What is Acetyl L-carnitine?
Acetyl L-carnitine (ALCAR) is derived from the amino acids lysine and methionine. It is found in highest levels in tissues that use fatty acids as their main fuel; such as the skeletal and cardiac muscles.
What are the key benfits?
Acetyl L-carnitine have backed claims of anti-aging and nutrient regenerating properties. The effects of supplementing with them have been extensively researched in many areas including exercise performance, treatment of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, diabetic depression and many other neurological disorders. Furthermore, Acetyl L-carnitine is necessary for the proper movement and transportation of fat molecules into the mitochondria where they are used for oxidation (fat burning), thus rendering Acetyl L-carnitine as an actual "fat burner".
How should I take this supplement?
We recommend consuming 500 mg (0.5g) 3 to 4 times daily and for best results take 1.5 - 3 grams approximately 30-60 minutes prior to a workout along with 200 - 400 milligrams of caffeine in the form of caffeine anhydrous.
