What is Maltodextrin?

Maltodextrin is produced from corn starch and is easily digestible. The name 'Maltodextrin' refers to Dextrose polymers of varying lengths. However, unlike Dextrose, Maltodextrin is not very sweet. Maltodextrin is a fine white powder with a bland taste and contains virtually no fat or protein and is a great source of energy.

Although technically a complex carbohydrate, Maltodextrin results in a glycemic response similar to that of Dextrose.
