The we drove to the US to go shoe shopping in Troy and a cold front had moved in. IN an hour it had dropped some 15 degrees and we were freezing in our summer tanks.

I'm going to cozumel this winter. i used to go to some of the resorts around ontario. what a load of crappy OLD resorts, tired food, cold lakes and COSTLY! hell last aug. went to one that cost 4K for lousy food (acommpanied by a woman singing the sound of music and playing a piano), old rooms (with paper thin walls) and cold weather. for a week. for a little more i get 2 weeks of hot sun in mexico.

Our govt really needs to improve the supplied homes to our brave men and women soldiers and their families. Wonder how much money is wasted each day in Ottawa that could be better used. One of the many reasons I got deviated from a career in the military when I graduated from high school and I spent 4 years in the air cadets with plans to enter the regular forces once done.

Now I just need to pass my fitness test (I hate cardio and I'm dealing with a L5 sprain) and finish up my course this summer, I should be able to shop for some full time contracts within the Reserve CF until I manage to convince my better half that going back to the Regular Army is where it is at.

Time will tell in the end.

I did it all in Petawawa in the reserves and then I transfered to 1PPCLI.

Back when it was hard...lol, no shit. I remember being punched out by my instructor on my Infantry course and then when I was teaching on an Infantry course in 96/97, I had my troops out for an extra drill lesson after dinner, I got "caught" swearing at them...that cost me 2 weeks in the fishbowl on duty. 2 days later I got "caught" again putting them in the push up position (me with them) and counting off 25 slow ones...and that cost me another 2 weeks in the fishbowl.

The army got really soft at the end of the 90's. It seems to be improving now, however the PC shit still prevails.
