Its politics, that Leon guy has looked like this for a long time now and hes always placed. I thought they were to be marked down for guts? Nothing against him but he looked like a train wreck.

And Andre, looking at your Avatar I remember seeing you there at the show but didnt know it was you or else Id of said hello.

    Yup... it was me! lol

Here's the official word from the IFBB...
    7.Abdominals and Thighs Pose:

Facing the judges and audience, the bodybuilder will place the two arms behind the head and will extend one leg forward. He will also contract the abdominal muscles by bending slightly the trunk forward. At the same time, he will contract the muscles of the thigh placed ahead. The abdominal muscles must be fully flexed and the stomach should not be distended.

Its important to note that the one-arm variation of the abdominal pose isn't considered and official pose, unless the Head Judge asks for the specific pose.

I definitely had Leon lower...same thing happened to me in 2010 they placed him higher...no offense but his physique is a mess. Chris should have been higher in Masters and he most likely would have but he still needs better conditioning. He doesn't have the detail in his legs and he needs to dry out more. Size and shape wise hes all there...if he can come in sliced and dry he will clean up...even in the SHW class.

Thanks for the positive constructive criticism... I will pass it along to Chris... he was so upset that he said he's done with the sport... hopefully I can get him to reconsider as I really believe in the guy! And it would be a shame to see his potential go to waste!!!

I was just about to post something along the lines of competitive bbing being as legitimate as professional wrestling until you mentioned it as being a 'sport'. I've always had a problem with this. IMO it's not a sport. It's an athletic endeavour. A beauty contest that involves physical punishment. And as long as decisions like this are made I can't take the whole thing too seriously. It is painfully obvious that the guy has 'business interests' with the people who placed him ina spot where he had no right being. saying it's politics is a PC way of saying there is crooked shit going on. He should retire from competition and so should the turds who placed him ahead of Chris. It's a disgrace.

Not trying to be a dick here but what potential? Dude is 45 and looks fantastic for any age let alone 45 but what potential are you talking about? IFBB Pro staus potential? Not likely.

I was going to keep out of this because of the unpopular response I will get, but I just have to add in my 2 cents. I had Leon ahead of Chris. The thing is, we can't simply take a still image of Leon out of his pose and a pic of Chris in his pose and make a comparison. When you see the video, you will notice yes, Leon got a distended gut, but he can in fact hit the abs pose, and when he does get into position, it actually doesn't look that bad. He's definitely cut. Even if that wasn't the case , a thigh and abdominal is 1 body part, 1 pose.

I will agree with everyone that Leon haas a distended gut. However, that is 1 flaw. Chris had no cuts in his legs from the side poses, and no width in his hams (again, from the side poses). He is massive yes, and has potential to imrpove and do even better on the national stage despite his age. But again, both competitors had flaws, while both had strengths. The most notable distinction between the two was legs. Leon's legs trumps the other bodyparts that Chris may have had on Leon. Overall conditioning would probably go to Leon, Symmetry was actually a toss up depending what you favor. Leon's gut = bad. Chris's legs need improvement. Plus, it isn't judged on whoever wins best 2 out of 3 in symmetry, mass, conditioning. It goes much deeper than that and you simply have to trust the judges.

Overall if you ask anyone, they would probably rather have chris's look... so in that sense chris wins on symmetry. Pose for pose, cuts for cuts, mass for mass...I honestly had Leon ahead, with Chris not too far behind. On the National stage legs are highly favored. Just look at any of the classes. It's legs that one the show. Antoine beat ron IMO only because his legs were bigger. Zane beat richman because of legs. Greg beat Tony because of legs. Danny Garon was up there in all classes because of his legs.

That said, all chris needs is bigger legs, and he will put guys like Leon to shame.

I will post the video's soon (they are taking longer to upload to youtube than I thought, so I'll do it overnight when I am home from work). I will not disagree with anyone who believes Chris should have been 3rd in the masters. I think there is a justification either way depending what you favor. However same can be said for Leon taking 3rd in the masters. 1 thing I will never agree on though... There is no comparison between Larry and Chris... Larry won the masters hands down without question.

That's the great thing about this sport Steve... everyone can have an opinion... Here are some other comparison shots of Chris vs. Leon... I also believe (my opinion obviously lol) that Chris could have taken 3rd in the open SH instead of Jerome... not sure what what up with Jerome's legs...

Jerome looked like crap. I can't stand his attitude as he thinks he is gods gift to bodybuilding but he has all the tools to get the job done on stage but he just can't seem to get there for some reason.

If he'd stop going for size and instead worry about condition I think he'd have a pro card by now.
