Matt! I liked you! I thought you looked Great! Good job!
I liked the heavyweight guy too who came in third I think!.. he had dreadlocks... can't remember his name (I COULD check it, but im tired and lazy)
Can somone post up a pic of Darnell Collins?... This kid is TWENTY TWO years old! he has not even been alive as long as some of his competition has been lifting! Last year he won the Jr's, this year he placed top 5 in (I think) light middle... quite the feat for someone so young!
Matt I don't know what the hell is in you that makes you muscles weigh so little!!! You look huge. IMO You were one of the more impressive guys I've seen. Not saying everyone else didn't blow me away with their conditioning but you just have a wicked shape man. Kinda remind me of a young Victor Maritinez. Keep it up man I don't understand how you were as light as you were cause you look huge
Looking at the pics again, I am blown away and humbled by the quality of physiques displayed at the Canadian nationals.
It's ridiculous that only 1 pro card goes out to the open mens. There should be 3 cards for the top 3 in the overall posedown in my opinion. With the 202's now, we need to represent.
In the US they get 6-7 cards if you count the nationals, jr nats, usa's and team universe.
Looks like Ron Partlow and Loutfi Ajaoun are going to do the North Americans. Anyone other Canadians doing the show?
3 in the overall would "almost" imply super, heavy, and light-heavy winner automatically get a card. The exception would be sometimes a middleweight would edge out the light-heavy. I don't really agree with that being the case, simply because our population is what 10 times smaller than that of the US? I think 1 is about all we need to be "fair" in that sense.
We do give out 2 each year if you count the overall + master overall. And in the past, there has been a 3rd given often. So if you think about it, 3 is quite a bit of cards for the canadians to be given!
But if you are going to be giving out the additional cards...what about 2nd place finishers to the overall winner? Ex. chris white at this years nationals...How could they decide between him and the others in the overall? I really think if they had given another card, it would have been to him...He was only 2 points away from winning his class, so some judges had him ahead of santana...Had santana not showed up, he'd likely be a pro as we speak.
