    Default The over 50 gurus

I just thought I would start a thread for us older Bodybuilders, natural or not.
I have not been a member here long, but have been bodybuilding for over 30 years but never competed.I have done a fair amount of reading here and understandbly most members here are a lot younger then myself.
I am 53 years old, about to turn 54,6 foot 3,and wiegh in at 265lbs currently.I do a 3 day split currently and have just returned to serious training this year after a few years of slacking off.
Had my best overall lifting when i was in my late 30,s and early 40,s,but with the new supplements out there and paying attention to my diet,I hope to see better results going forward.Thank god for muscle memory effect.I currently reside and train in Maple ridge B.C. Canada
So chime in if you like and let us know how old you are,how long you been training and anything you wish to tell the rest of the senior crowd.

Yup, turned 51 in Oct. I'm 5'11" and weighed 220 first thing this morning. I'm guessing my BF is around 12/13%, can still kinda see my abs.. Gotta love winter bulking!! I did a calorie check the other day and it was just over 7,000 cals.. My goal is to get my absolutely pathetic bench up to a respectable number and the only way i can see that happening is eating myself into oblivian, lol, and with shortdave's help.

I've been on HRT for about 4 years now, life changeing experience! Been lifting for about 35 years but to be totally honest i don't think i was lifting smart for most of those years. It didn't really come together until i got on these boards, and mostly this board. My squat has improved ( which will never see big numbers ) and most importantly my bench... 35 years and i just figured out how to bench, lol..

Umm, not much else to tell... I did become a grand dad four months back

Well guys I am a granpa myself<but a nursing home for the future.Thats scary.Hopefully this lifestyle will delay that for a few.
Faller since you are a BC boy you proably remember Terry Oniel when he was MR. BC.I use to go to the bodybuilding shows in Vancouver and see Tom Magee there.Boy he was big. Terry use to train at the same Gym for many years when I was younger.
I am carrying about 15% bodyfat and have not seen my abs for 10 years but hope to make sure they are still there sometime next year.Being a tall guy, with long limbs, my power in basic lifts was never that great, training natural all my life but still managed to build a pretty big Physic. But from here on I am going to pay more attention to my diet then I ever did in the past.Believe or not I still use MCT oil for energy.

Jeez. Identical numbers to me...only lower bf% and double my age. Inspirational is a good word, but humbling is the one that most comes to mind. Great work all you guys. I need to go spread some rep around.

This will show you how old we are ,or should I say experienced! What was the first supplement you bought from a health food store when you first started bodybuilding.?
Me being a skinny kid was "TIGERS MILK" wieghtgain then Doug Hepburns wieght gain.
Do you remember back in the early 80,s when HOTSTUFF was avaliable.I used it for a few months.I do not know what was in it,but it sure put size on me for awhile.
I also remember when the "WEIDER STORE was on hastings street in Vancouver back in the late 70,s.I bought my Wieder leather lifting belt there and I still use it to day.A collectors item now.
As you can see i do not have Alztimers yet.LOL

Those guys from HOTSTUFF apparently had trouble from the U.S gov, some kind of anabolic in there in small amounts. They packed up and bought a small island in Central America somewhere,Costa Rica?Set up operations there.
