how much cardio are you doing now...you can get the results of 5 weeks in 3 if you tend to lose slowly. But I am just listening to what you're saying, and it sounds like your really not ready...Again, post some pics and we'll see. I've seen some pretty drastic transformations in 3 weeks. If your not used to too much cardio, then 3 weeks of a good amount could REALLY change your physique.

Three weeks out it's time to bump your cardio to 1 hour in the morning and one hour after weights.
Cut your carbs down a more and increase your water intake to 5 litres day. And watch how things can change quick.
Oh and post up a pic.

Its not water...if you are lean enough you will be very dry in the morning...you il tend to retain water through the day thats usually inevitable but it will be gone by morning. Post a few pics and I can let you know where you are.

He's gotten some good advice, and with 3 weeks of 2 hours per day cardio, combined with a low calorie diet, he would potentially be ready for the stage. However, I am just guessing he's not mentally ready for it.

The other problem is waiting until 3 weeks out to decide if he's on track.

At this point you have 2 distinct choices 1) bust your ass and do 2h cardio a day + low carb diet (or keto). You will lose muscle most likely due to soo much cardio and trying to lose fast but will look good at your show. 2) Regroup and drop out of the show. Get a prep coach from the board to help with ur prep. Then go back ready to rock and kill it.

I completely agree with Steve here.
For the first time since my diet I woke up weighing 156.8lbs and 5 hours and probably 2L of water and 3 meals later I was the exact same. Normally I would be at least a pound or more heavier by that time of day.

next thing to happen for you is 5 hours after waking you will have drank at least 5 litres to replenish even more water that you lose over night. When you're really ripped you'll hold lots of water throughout the day and drop 8 pounds over night. Look like a totally different guy in the morning for the first bit until you get the water and salt in you. This assuming your getting the sodium you need. Without sodium, yeah, I can't hold onto more than 2 pounds at a time. Not a good way to be this far out. cramping, lack of pump, no energy...(worse than normal that is).
