THE HYPE If you want to be sure that you are obtaining ALL of the beneficial aspects of alpha-lipoic acid, then R™ is the only product for you. R™ contains only pharmaceutically pure R-isomer alpha-lipoic acid which has been shown to produce ALL of the beneficial effects of alpha-lipoic acid without any of the potential negative effects of the non-naturally occurring S-isomer contained in most of the alpha-lipoic acid formulas on the market. If you want the best and most effective alpha-lipoic acid, then R™ is the only product for you!
THE FACTS 1. What is R™? R™ contains the R-isomer of alpha-lipoic acid. 2. Why is R™ special? Most alpha-lipoic acid supplements on the market contain a combination of both the R and S-isomers of alpha-lipoic acid. Unfortunately, the only isomer that is naturally occurring is the R-isomer. As with many chiral isomers that are not naturally occurring, the S-isomer has potentially unhealthy effects. Although known to be a decent antioxidant, it has been shown in studies to have a negative effect on insulin sensitivity and carbohydrate metabolism. Thus, by combining both the R- and S-isomers, the positive effects on insulin sensitivity and carbohydrate metabolism attributed to R-alpha-lipoic acid are at least partially negated. 3. What effects can be expected from R™? The scientific literature shows that R-alpha-lipoic acid improves insulin sensitivity and effectively scavenges many types of free radicals. Anecdotally, those taking R™ notice a shift in body composition towards an increase in lean mass and a decrease in fat mass. Other reported results are a noticeable improvement in mental outlook as well as increased feelings of well-being. 4. What about costs? Unfortunately, the R-isomer of alpha-lipoic acid is significantly more expensive than the common RS-isomer version. In fact, it is upwards of 6 times more expensive. Obviously, if a person could take twice as much RS-isomer version to obtain the same amount of the R-isomer alpha-lipoic acid, then the pure R-isomer would not be cost effective or make sense to consume. However, it must be noted that the S-isomer has negative effects on insulin sensitivity and carbohydrate metabolism. Thus, no amount of RS-isomer can deliver the results of the R-isomer. In most situations, when a person tries R™, they experience noticeable, beneficial effects that they never experienced with any other alpha-lipoic acid supplement. Once this happens, cost becomes much less of a concern.
