from BCABBA website:
PLEASE NOTE the following information:
You must be a current member to enter a BCABBA event, but both membership application and entry form may be sent in together.
Memberships run from January to December each year.
As of the 2011 AGM, members voted to increase the late fee to $200. If an athlete enters after the 4 week out deadline, the late fee charge will be required in addition to the regular entry fee. This is to AVOID LATE ENTRIES into the the event for the sake of the BCABBA administration and the Promoter's preparation for the event.
At the 2011 AGM members also voted to create a one week out final deadline. All entries must be received no later than one week out from the event. After one week out, no athletes will be allowed to enter the competitions. This is to avoid last minute entries which slow down the athlete's meeting and affect all the athletes waiting to compete.

THE DAY AFTER THE SWFC IS:
2012 BCABBA AGM
Sunday, November 11th, 2012
Time: 11:30am
Location: Inn at the Quay, New Westminster
We will be holding the AGM at the end of year. This will allow us to talk about the entire season of shows, including the national level events. It will also be after the CBBF AGM, which will allow the executive to report back after the meeting of any changes made at the CBBF level.
Will you be including in the discussion the failure of the BCABBA to follow the rules and judging criteria of Womens Physique (height classes , judging on a constant criteria as opposed to varied body type so you send a mix type to nationals) will you be discussing the contraversial mishandling of Leah Pepper who by the regulations would have trophied and been eligible for nationals? and the president of the BCABBA refusing to aknowledge her in any way (refusing to reply to emails, refusing registered mail etc) . The list goes on, but will this be addressed or be allowed to be addressed at the AGM ?
Spent
ps:good luck to everyone at the Sandra Wickham
:excited
Spent,
This is second time I have seen you address this issue and second time you don't describe the situation as you see it other than you are alleging there was some type of circumvention of the rules / criteria, in your opinion.
What exactly is your issue and the rationale...
If you are a member of BCABBA you can go to the meeting but I can't really see them addressing this....the executive don't do the judging.... I checked the placings and the named athlete finished 4th...I don't know her so can't look at any picture other than a 2011 figure picture. One of the girls that finished ahead of her was awarded a pro card at Nationals so pretty tough to argue with that placing in my opinion.
Expand on your issue instead of generalizing it......
BCABBA IS PART OF CBBF
AND WE ABIDE BY THESE RULES POSTED ON THE CBBF SITE

i have increase size and BOLDED the key point
it says the following information provides KEY WORD: "POTENTIAL" CLASSES
it does NOT say these are the written in stone have to have classes
IMPORTANT CBBF ANNOUNCEMENT
The CBBF is proud to announce that in 2012 we will be providing the Women’s and Men’s Physique classes at our one or many yet to be determined CBBF national events.
The following information provides potential classes, determined by numbers of athletes wishing to participate as well as the rules for women’s and men’s physique.
Women's Physique Height Classes:
Up to and including 5’4”
Over 5’4 and up to and including 5’6”
Over 5’6”
For 2012 CBBF Physique Championships inclusion into a CBBF national event to be determined shortly!
In addition in 2012 at the CBBF national event only two classes will be provided, at this time, Up to and including 5’5” and over 5’5.
Depending on numbers we may increase to the above mentioned 3 classes.

Great vid...two great determined athletes. Paula's story is unbelievable and she is an inspiration and I wish her all the best this weekend...and enjoy that cheesecake Paula.
I think more height classes in Women's Physique - to minimize different body types, and perhaps globally improve the competing experience, may be a good idea in the future.
...and that is an amazing story of Paula etc......I resonate with that - overcoming adversity to make amazing things HAPPEN!!

Nov 2013 (date TBA) SANDRA WICKHAM FALL CLASSIC
did you know that in order to get any athletes funding
say you wanna go to Nationals
you need to have been a member in good standing 2 yr
done volunteer work each yr
and gone to AGM both yrs
to qualify for athletes funding for quite a few hundred dollars towards going onto National level
????????????????????????????
I see no need for the snarkiness there Dawn. Your coming off quite catty!
"snarky" and "catty" holy there was none intended
you are totally taking things out of context
i have known nitrous aka Craig from quite a few yrs
and i was purely making a point
(WE DID TALK ABOUT THAT EXACT THING AT THE AGM,
no late fee to go onto BC's if contact BCABBA withing a wk of FSJ show)
ITS NOT BEING SNARKY its clearly making a statement of truth
and trying to educate not only him....
but others to their chance at funding from BCABBA when they go onto Nationals
that I'D SAY MOST ARE UNAWARE THAT THEY CAN GET FUNDING OF SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS
BUT ONLY UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS
knowing Craig I know he has the potential to qualify for Nationals next yr
and whether he wants to do it next yr 2013 NATIONALS (he would have had to had last yr 2011 and this 2012 to be member in good standing)
or do the following yr 2014 NATIONALS (he would have had to be mbr in good standing 2012 and 13)
now hopefully i've driven this point home where he/others will understand
if you INTEND TO GO ONTO THE HIGHER LEVEL
YOU ARE REALLY DOING YOURSELF A DISSERVICE BY NOT GOING TO AGM
AND CONTINUING YOUR MEMBERSHIP AND DOIN VOLUNTEER WORK
in order to get funding
UNLESS OF COURSE YOU HAVE SO MUCH MONEY YOU OF COURSE DON'T NEED/WANT OUTSIDE HELP TO FUND YOUR TRAVEL TO NATIONALS
me i've done Nationals several times and let me tell you sir its very expensive
and for most people any little bit helps
I know its hard to read a person when typing or though even texting but your reply "if you had been at the AGM you would already know the answer to that question" and your 2nd one seemed like you were being a smart ass, sorry if that was the way it was not intended but it came off that way to me when I read it. We all know not everyone thats a paid member was at that meeting, it was my 1st and I was expecting a lot more people to be there, especially the ones looking to move on to Nationals eventually and hoping for funding. I know if/when the time comes I would surely want some help to pay for it if its available for us for sure and I thought it was awesome we are only 1 of three Provinces I think it was that do fund our athletes to go to Nationals. We are VERY lucky in that regard. But we need to get more people to the AGM if they want funding and Im sure some just expect it without having to attend nor volunteer. Im just getting back into it but support the organization by going to the shows and training people for them. Now Im back into it I plan to get more involved too. Anyways it was obvious nitrous was not at the meeting and was just asking a question and you jumped on him for it is all Im saying, :-)
that was by far the biggest AGM i've ever seen and i've been in the BCABBA since 1994 !
also i agree we need to get more people out to the AGM and be involved in their assoc
and also my effort is to make the BCABBA more visible
and to EDUCATE
hence me putting a BCABBA thread on 5 forums that i tend to on regular basis
along with promote BCABBA on 10 threads on 6 forums / different websites
and 3 facebook pages
its constantly amazing to me how few people are aware of certain rules etc
and need clarification on stuff
i'm always here for anyone who needs it
and help anyone that needs it
IF I DON'T MAKE PEOPLE AWARE OF WHATS INVOLVED TO GET FUNDING
AND THEY WANT OR NEED HELP FINANCIALLY GETTING TO NATIONAL LEVEL
THEN IN MY OPINION I'M DOING THEN A HUGE DISSERVICE
AND IT IS MY PERSONAL INTENTION TO GET AS MANY PEOPLE INVOLVED IN THE SPORT I LOVE AS POSSIBLE
AND HELP AS MANY PEOPLE I CAN GET TO THEIR GOALS AND DREAMS
AND HOPEFULLY REACHING THEIR HIGHEST POTENTIAL
that is my intention of my service to BCABBA members and anyone wishing to progress in this sport
SANDRA WICKHAM FALL CLASSIC 2013 to be a 2 DAY SHOW
Nov 8th and 9TH 2013 SANDRA WICKHAM FALL CLASSIC
The show will be structured as follows:
Friday pm - Bikini + Men's/Women's Physique, judging rounds plus awards
Saturday am - Pre-judging for Bodybuilding, Figure and Fitness
Saturday pm - Routines/awards for Bodybuilding, Figure and Fitness
Dawn what are the chances a lowermainland spring show wil be introduced in the next few years in vancouver or new west.
we talked about that at the AGM
but someone needs to step up and promote it
me i got way to much going on and my passion is coaching anyways
i'd like to see it happen this coming spring
but its short notice to get it all done
depends like i say if someone steps up and wants to promote it
personally i'd much rather that than a 2 day show
in which its another day i don't get to see my son
means when i see him before he goes to school wed i don't get to see him till sun afternoon
cuz: wed would be hotel set up
thurs spray tan day for fri competitors
fri spray tan for sat competitors, athletes mtgs for both days mid day fri, fri night show for bikini, mens and womens phys
sat show day
sun check out hotel and haul stuff home
probably i'm gonna haveta take monday off to recover
which means no work wed - mon means 6 days off work for 1 show arrrggghhh
believe me no ones praying for a spring show harder than me

HOW TO FIGURE OUT....
HOW MANY SERVINGS IN DISH….
Make sure you know how much meat is going in dish (ie: 1 lb meat = 16 oz)
If your serving size is 4 oz of meat per meal
If 1 lb meat in dish go 16 oz divided by your 4 oz serving size
Equal 4 servings in dish, so get 4 bowls and divide dish into them
( me on the left )
I wanted to thank all involved with the BCABBA and the Attachment 33956Attachment 33957SWFC 2012 and let you know what a great time I had - I ended up placing 3 rd in the Mens Masters and 10 th ( out of 16 ) in the Light Heavyweights . Everyone involved from the athletes meeting to the show itself were kind , courteous and very professional - all of the BCABBA board members were awesome and left no questions unanswered , I intially felt nervous at the meeting prior to the weigh in but that quickly disapated - Chris is an awesome dude and made me feel relaxed as did all of the other board members - watching the enormity of the work that is involved at the time and effort that everyone from the BCABBA board members to the helpers / volunteers put in to the show really impressed me.
Thanks again and my Trophy sits atop my fireplace with pride ! I plan to bust my ass and put on some qaulity mass and shoot for the 2014 Provincials
Take care

BCABBA is the PROVINCIAL affiliate of the CBBF
which is the NATIONAL affiliate of the IFBB
which is the INTERNATIONAL pinnacle of the sport/federation
so the IFBB MASTERS OLYMPIA is essentially one of the same
the IFBB is what alot of the BCABBA COMPETITORS INSPIRE TO

Hiya!
I'm kinda new to forum and new in Canada also. However I have really focused plans of achieving really shredded fitness physique so I was wondering if the competition is allowed for the foreigners also since I come from Europe. Or are there any other qualifications I need to get to be able to sign. Thank you in advance!
