Where do YOU guys meet women

Just a warning - POF - had a date with a Russian girl, since she didn't have a car, the arrangement was to pick her up at her residence and go out for dinner. We agreed to bring our kids along (we both had one). As I arrived at her residence, I was almost ambushed by two rather large fellows; one of them pulled out a knife. I was so furious and blinded by fear panicking for the safety of my son that I charged after the attackers into the street. Lucky for me they ran away. I was so shaken after this incident; it took a quite while before I was able to calm down. Never again, I deleted my POF profile. There's got to be a safer way to date…

^^^^I have always wondered how common this is. I am glad you and your son were able to walk away without physical harm. Trying to explain it all to your son must have been an experience in itself.

Thanks for the tip. At past 50, I'm still learning but as I writing this I'm still so affected by this incident, I don't think I could ever do the internet dating again.

Plenty of Fish hasn't been too bad,, at first I didn't like it,, always getting hit on by cougars ,, not my thing. 2 things that happened to me on there,,
#1, I was talking to this girl that had hot pictures,, she was fine!, added her on facebook, still all was good until i met her and she said she had taken a photoshop course, chick was 200 pounds!! I was mortified, Then happened to have one of my friends that was in the pub having lunch an came up to me after she left and said,, Hey there bud,, didn't recognize you with the armour an sword there dragon slayer.

#2 I met this girl and we hit it off, she was funny, had gotten along great, we dated for awhile and then she started to get all strange,, eventually she dumped me, FOR A CHICK!! little did I know she was a rug muncher or bi and my friends still bug me and say that "if she gets a sex change I'm going to tell everybody you did that guy!"

I'm 31, not bad looking and don't really have a hard time picking up,,"well at the bar at least" I never thought there were crazy chicks until I started dating online.
One girl I met was obsessed that her eggs were drying up and wanted to have a kid,, I was so nervous that I wouldn't use her condoms thinking she would poke holes in them.
"why would you go out with a girl like that??"" Hey ,, everybody still needs to get their rocks off from time to time.

My opinion , try Plenty Of Fish and make a decent profile with quality pictures,, not showing you partying or going crazy,, maybe something nicely dressed.
See how things go.
Other one I have tried was Zoosk, its a facebook application as well has its own site,, think its 25 bucks a month , I have met a few women off of there as well as made some good friends.
Eharmony I have heard good hings about but have never tried.

I met my wife on Hi5 (it was like facebook before facebook) I tried the dating sites and either got women posting up their high school pictures or nutjobs. I found asking extended network friends to work very well. I still thank my friend who set us up every time I see him.

As for plentyoffish, everyone I know who is a member on that site is looking for one thing only, bootycall.

Working at a bar, or being in a bar is a great place to get laid. But once you hit your 30s you are not really going to find quality women getting drunk at a bar. If they have their life together they probably have more important things to be doing. Last thing I want is a 30 year old attention whore, alcholic, sporatically employed bar hottie.

use the good old shopping kart trick, when your at the supermarket purposly bump your kart into another womans kart but make it look like an accident and then apologize to her, start a conversation and there you go.

Met him on POF..we never talked on the phone but messaged each other for several nights on facebook. Finally we meet and it's now going great. POF profile is shut down. He and I did it together one night about 2 weeks in.

I loved Match.com. Met a lot of professionals. One flew me to LA and took me to Michigan to some very glamorous events....another to Chicago 2 x. And a Air Marshal I met in Orlando who took me out on his Harley and to St Augistines Florida.

Do not give up on dating websites. The chances of me meeting someone locally..nill. ON line the world is my bar.
