Why? I'm sure anyone posting pictures would have the proper liscensing and registration. Also lets all remember that "gun" refers to artillery and the proper nomenclature is rifle, shotgun, handgun etc. Carry on... (I'm obviously just messing around.)

At one point I was actually very intimidated by firearms. Then I learned how to properly handle and use them and I now have a great respect and curiosity. Holding the trigger down on a belt fed machine gun is one of those things I would like to do again. May have to book a trip to Texas before I die.

I'm sure it is. Nothing personal I have 0 issues with guns My family is from Detroit.

I fell all the wrong people have weapons hence the shootings in To this weekend at caribanna ( carry a banana )

If you have a clean record and apply you should be able to have a weapon on your person.

But if caught with an unregistered weapon 5 year min no court just see ya. Simple rules for complex times.

Here is the caveat though. The registry is a joke. It is not secure, and you can't force everyone who legally owned a non restricted firearm before to feel obligated to pay the government a fee annually to be put on a list that is really a cash grab.
So what happens when someone is in a survival situation and is found by their rescuers to have a firearm in their possesion and they aren't licensed? All aircraft that fly into bush camps have a firearm as part of the survival kit. What if the sole survivor isn't licensed? Is it bye bye charlie for 5 years? See its not so simple. Is it?

Why should we register firearms? As adults do we have to ask the government permission to do everything.

I used to think there were more shootings in the USA because of lax gun laws, but then I realized it is probably a direct result of the war on drugs and ethnic warfare.

there are more gun crimes in the US because there are more criminals. Gun laws don't do squat, because if someone wants to get a gun, there is no law that will stop them. If someone wants to kill someone bad enough they will use something else if they can't get a gun. So that being said, do we start banning kitchen knives and cars? They kill way more people then guns every year.

[QUOTE=macka;241647]Here is the caveat though. The registry is a joke. It is not secure.

I read a report that said the registry was hacked over 100 times last year, which basically gives crimimals a shopping list of which houses to hit. Not to mention it was suppose to cost 150 million to put together, and now the cost has exceeded 2 billion dollars of taxpayer money.

I believe 6 of the provinces have stated they will not enforce registry violations.
What a waste of money by big city liberals. Remember Paul Martin's attempt at a handgun ban? LOL

Canada has ATC permits, and a friend of mine was approved for his job out in the boonies to carry as the bears are bad up here.

What is this? Restricted or Non?

This is an Robinson Armiment XCR and its non restricted!!! There are only a handful of them in Canada I was among one of the first to get one of the 25 imported. Mine is a .223 with a chrome lined barrel with a 9-1 twist. You can also get kits to change over the caliber to 6.8 or 7.62x39mm.

Here's the website
http://www.robarm.com/index.htm

I bought it from
