Weights, cast iron vs sand vs wtv

I'm looking at Canadian tire and they have what I think are some good weights. Any suggestions or comments?

Check out Kijiji or Craigslist for sets people are selling. You can get used plates for 70 cents\lb or less. Look for Olympic type equipment. The Olympic bars are sturdier than regular bars.
