Thats nuts, how does that type of operation even affect your ability too lift if you dont mind me asking?

I only stayed out of the gym for a week when I got my Wisdom teeth done and that seems more serious to me.

... you get black eyes from lifting weights? that REALLY sounds like something you should go see a doctor about. I've never seen or heard of that happening to anyone before.

Not severe black eyes...

go on the bench press, put some heavy ass weight on, and close your eyes while you lift it and max out.
im gonna put money you get some minor blackness under your eyes (that goes away shortly, but still)

Mabey you just lift alot heavier than I do, also I like to keep my eyes open when I have heavy weights overtop of my body lol. Either way you should probably just avoid going heavy then until your sure your vision is 100%. I dont thinky you would need to avoid the gym entirely.

I turn beat red, my eyes get crazy red, crazy dark. Looks like I'm really ****ing high. Which usually I am. I've gotten a semi-black hobo eye when I tried my deadmax a year ago. I was stoked.

But you should be fine bro, lift maybe a bit lighter, 8-10rep, should have a problem if you know how to breathe right and let your circulatory system dialate/constrict regularly (eg. Not holding your breathe)

"Looks like I'm really ****ing high. Which usually I am."

^haha solid.

but yea thats what i was thinkin anyways, maybe just take a week off than train light for a while and make sure i dont hold my breath or train like a drunk branch warren style outta texas mess.

Do NOT ever sqeeze your eye's shut after the surgery!!! They'll tell you that when you get it done anyway, or a least they should. My wife just got her's done a couple days ago and the doc said that even during sex she has to relax her eyes lids. If you sqeeze them shut there's a real good chance the cornia will shift.

I had laser eye surgery done on both eyes 8 months ago. You won't want to workout the first week or so regardless of what you may think. It takes alot of time for your eyes to heal up that is why you have to go to the doctor's so many times for eye exams after the surgery. The main reason they told me not to workout immediately after the operations is because of the elevated blood flow and pressure your eyes receive when you strain. You can still excersise but not go balls to the wall. Start training again very light and slow the few weeks after. You will def feel the pressure in your eyes. If you tear anything by going to heavy at first you risk immediate eye sight and healing recovery impairments. You will see your doctor almost every day for the first week, and then once a week and then once a month and then once again 6 months after the surgery? I'm sure i don't have to tell you to always ask them when you can go back to lifting 100%. If they dont already you can ask them to do pressure tests to determine how much strain they can take.

just went for laser eye surgery 2 months ago... best decision in my life... i waiting a week before lifting and when i went... i just lifted really lightly and kept a towel with me at all times to keep the sweat from getting in my eyes.

yea, it's related to pressure. stay light, lower pressure and it shouldn't be that big of a deal... otherwise just use contacts LOL
