Looks like this thug messed with the wrong bull.

Sadly if this was Canada the criminals would get a slap on the wrist and the victim would be looking at doing prison time.

Hey bro, the states isnt that far from where u are, hop a fence :p

Too bad reports and statistics show time and time again, that the opposite is true. :popc

What you mean? Are you saying those hood rats in Toronto who shoot at 15 year old girls are not phased by the legality of gun possession?

I thought criminals actually respected laws

Hrm, maybe i wasnt clear enough. What i meant to say was that the absence of firearms in a society is a good thing. Both in citizens, 'hood rats' and even enforcement (look at gun violence stats in countries where law enforcement dont carry a firearm).

^ If you are saying that a %100 removal of firearms from a population (including criminals) would result in lower gun crimes, then sure, no one can argue.

Just as no one can argue that if the queen had balls she'd be the King.

But if we step off the Liberals Smile-powered fear-train, the fact is that honest law abiding citizens should, and do (currently) have the right to own the most effective means of self defense available - the same tools the criminals have, and which the police and military use to defend themselves from those armed criminals. WHy should law abiding private citizens not have access to them?

Something to think about:

# In 1976, Washington, D.C. enacted one of the most restrictive gun control laws in the nation. Since then, the city's murder rate has risen 134 percent while the national murder rate has dropped 2 percent.

# After Evanston, Ill., a Chicago suburb of 75,000 residents, became the largest town to ban handgun ownership in September 1982, it experienced no decline in violent crime.

# Among the 15 states with the highest homicide rates, 10 have restrictive or very restrictive gun laws.

# Twenty percent of U.S. homicides occur in four cities with just six percent of the population -- New York, Chicago, Detroit and Washington, D.C. -- and each has a virtual prohibition on private handguns.

# New York has one of the most restrictive gun laws in the nation -- and 20 percent of the armed robberies. Even more troublesome is the fact that the places where gun control laws are toughest tend to be the places where the most crime is committed with illegal weapons.

Source: From an Australian paper. A country which, by the way, banned firearms then saw an increase in violent crimes....

Do you trust these people to be "law enforcement"?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/nationworld/chi-texas-profiling_wittmar10,0,6051682.story

Gonzalez vs. Castle Rock ruled that citizens of the USA do not have a right to protection by "law enforcement" and therefore the are not liable for not enforcing restraining orders.

In other words you can't rely on other people in life.

In places where people can defend themselves with lethal force, criminals tend to focus more on non violent fraud crimes. Just so people remember, criminals are criminals because they break the law deliberately for their benefit.

I guess I'm just heavily biased. Some very close friends who were in the armed forces helped change my mind. Its tough to believe some of the things that happen overseas.

the only way to have gun control work is by un-inventing gun powder. YOu need a time machine, and you have to go back and (ironically) shoot the chinese guy who invented gun powder.

Otherwise, all you can do is cry about it. The criminals will always have guns, so gun control will only ever be a tool for government to un-arm its law abiding citizens to have more control

Gib said it best. Law abiding people deserve the right to protect themselves as per escalation. I will most certainly own a gun when I am older for protection of myself and my family. Texas experiences some of the lowest amount of home invasions and break ins due to the amount of guns owned by its citizens.

^^ yet Texas has a demographic of transient criminal types in the form of illegal aliens, and ******s (black MEN excluded, I am talking the piece of shit crack smoking assholes who live a life of g-unit thug life crime who all deserve bullets).

^^that wont stop until the US gets a better handle on its poverty issues. Some of those southern states have atrocious levels of poverty and quality of life concerns that need to be addressed.

I have to chime in on this thread.

Obviously gun control doesn't work and never will as the "bad guys" will always be able to get firearms.

All gun control does is make it harder or illegal for law abiding citizens to own/posses firearms.

I own firearms myself. I am a very responsible and competent owner.

I have very little faith in the police to protect my family and there for must take the necessary steps to insure I am able to do it myself.

Here's a prime example of what happens if armed intruders enter your residence and you call the police for a home invasion or something of that sort.

You call 911. You tell them there's a home invasion happening at you house.

They dispatch units towards your residence (that takes precious time) but they do not come directly to your residence they stop a block or two away and wait for "back-up" and that takes more time.

The police wont respond with a single car they have to have multiple units respond.

Meantime your son/daughter has been killed/abducted/beaten ect... Same could happen to your wife or maybe they rape her.

I would die before I let anyone do this to my family.

By owning a firearm and knowing how to properly use it as well as being familiar with basic tactical training this situation or many like it are greatly reduced.

Hopefully I wont ever have to shoot anyone but I would never hesitate to do so if it came down to them or my family.

You cant count on some one else to protect you (the Police)

I feel its your responsibility to do so.

The world is a vicious place. One only has to watch the news or surf the net to realize that.

By having a firearm any threats are easily eliminated by myself in under a minute.

F**K GUN CONTROL!!! I wont allow my self or my family to be a victim.

on a more serious note there have been several violent home invasions where I live in the past few months that probably would have ended differently had the homeowners been armed and knew how to properly hand themselves in that type of situation. Makes me angry when I heard about to elderly people being hospitalized from there injuries when the thugs break into their place. Whats even more frustrating is when you find out these jokers are not even in jail.
