I was watching a particular stock: MGM

I saw it drop from $11... kept dropping and dropping... I knew it'd be a great time to buy when it dropped below $3. If I had the money, I would have bought 10,000 shares. I knew it was going back up. Well, Monday it closed at just over $5/share. I would have sold the shares right then and there and made a hefty profit.

But unfortunately I don't have a disposable income. :(

The stock market is a crazy place right now, but with the right know-how money can still be made in short term investments. The key is to pick a few companies and watch their trends.. when they dip really low, buy a bunch and sell when it goes back up. Easier said than done, but it's doable...

If you don't have property, invest in it if you can. Maybe a group buy, whatever. But my opinion is do not leave your money in the banks and do not invest in any stocks. Everything will crash within the next few years. Any money you have will be worth much less as hyperinflation will take care of that. Do not believe anything the gov't is telling you. They are looking out for their own asses.

I hear you on that one, sure!
The problem with those big companies is that, they have strict rules and regulations as to who is and for what amount.
Since I am in the restaurant business yself, I know of BOOMING restaurants/corporations, that hey the regular Joe would love to get his glove in the share, and expand his coin..the problem is, rules. Some well known corporate restaurants sure, they may invite investors, but withing a met criteria.---even if Joe has the 250,000.00 in cash, what about his background......

I personally keep seeing gold fluctuate towards the possitive side of things (PROFIT), but only if the person can afford to lock money in for some years, and not expect immediate returns. :)

I have done light research on the stock market, I'd love to take a course on how-to, but my time is restricted as it is.

Illegal activities? Well we all know those Do make hundreds of thousands of dollars ---but there is always the ultimate risk.
Get an acredited trusted chemist, a label maker, IN with the people at some private sites, and presto, you've got an operation that can make you 100k monthly in cash.

as for stocks it's all about the timing. told the bro to get RIM (Research in motion). he got it around $59 but it soon went down to $45, slowly went up to 54ish then BANG...up 20% in one day, it's gone up another 15% in the last few days. hell it's almost @$90.00!

Word.

Problem with stocks is you actually have to invest a decent amount of money.

When Google was doing their IPO I managed to get in on the ground floor for 5K in shares. Cost me a boatload and was HUUUUUUUGE risk for me at the time but so far it paid off.

****in A!

I was *considering* it but the economist wrote they thought it was over hyped. Nice... Talk about being as wrong as one could possibly be eh? Kinda like the CIBC's Jeff Rubin. Predicted $200 oil, not. $1.25CND dollar...no. normally idiots like this would get canned but bankers don't get fired...

I'd be careful with real estate funds right now. I don't follow the REITs that closely but can tell you everyone's been deferring their investment write-downs. Look at it this way - if their equity is yielding over 10% and the best they can get in the debt market is 9%+, then they can't buy anything unless the investment beats these yields. Back to the property side, if you loosely assume that every 100 bps change in yield equates to a 13% change in property value, then you can see why nobody wants to book the write down or sell when what they're holding is valued based on 6 and 7% yields (or "cap rates").

These REITs need to get their cost of capital down to help put off the big write downs and to start getting deals done again. Distribution cuts are the big one that should be expected.

I have been saying this about Gold since a long while back at Muscle Nexus...but seeing that you are also kind of confirming good possiblities, it makes me want to put out a bit of cash into it.

I think it is still uunder 1000.00??? I remember last year it was 740.00, then hit 900.00 in 12 months....I have not followed up on it since last summer....but I am going to look into it.

I'd head to Thailand,Aus and NZ and just hang out and party until all the money was gone.

I'm 21 though. If I were older I'd throw it against my mortgage/debt. If I didn't have any debt I'd buy gold.

I think it's a lot tougher then most people think it is to make money in real estate or the stock market.

It seems like the dumber the person the more confident they are that they can make money investing in those areas, while smarter people tend to understand the risks better and many of them are choosing not to invest right now.
