Does anyone here workout their neck? I know shrugs should help, but I was just wondering if anyone has actually worked out there neck specifically. If anyone recommends or has anythng bad to say about neck training your comments would be appreciated.
Ive read some football excersises (like wrapping a towel around the back of your head and pulling back with your neck while you pull forward on the towel).. tried em out for a couple months, they're shit.

Here's one page, I'm sure there's many more out there:

Another tip for looking might be Formula 1 drivers. They have to deal with heavy loads on their neck from the g-forces they go through.

My new book I bought called training for warriors has plenty of neck strengthening exersizes, but most if not all are more for strength that size, im guessing you are looking for size more than anything, if thats the case you need one of those head straps that you can add weight to.

When I was deadlifting religiously my neck got too big for my frame. Those 16.5" neck shirts are like skirts. Damm off the rack bs.

a common wrestling exercise is the neck bridge, just have to be very careful to not over do it or you'll kink you neck out. Here's a link for more exercises.
i still do the towel thing that the OP mentioned, I do it with the towel behind the head and then in front on the forehead and pull back.

Back in the day I remember watching this big old guy with a weird helmet strap thing that he attached weights too. I wouldn't recommend it though. Unless it's sport specific I don't see neck training being necessary.

Get the neck helmet. We used them in wrestling all the time. My neck is huge.
