Hi gang. Just wondering if anyone has tried this blast from the past supplement recently. I remember it was huge back in the 90's, and I was in my local supp shop and noticed a bottle of it on the shelf.

Vanadyl really helped me get into ketosis faster on keto diets, and was really good for pumps during the weekend carb ups.

Experiences?

I used the sportpharma and some other brands and never got anything out of it. Even went up to 90mcg on some days, still nothing. I did have a friend who got stunning results from it, but he was always much leaner than me. I think you have to be lean for it to work.

I always noticed better pumps and I was more vascular.

I tried using it while dieting, but it made me dizzy and I felt kinda like I was going to pass out. because my carbs were low to non existant, it was probably srewing with my insulin levels. It is VERY important to take it with carbs.

I know 10mgs, 3 X a day on the first few days of starting any type of keto diet, helps me get into ketosis faster. I know the ketosticks aren't the best measure, for ketosis, but after taking vanadyl I can get in the trace to light purple within the afternoon of the second day of dieting.

There is a lot of research suggesting it does help in type 2 diabetes, and a little research showing it does nothing in people with normal insulin sensitivity. ( I think this is the leap people try to make with other supplements and drugs as well: from the diseased state to normal healthy people.)

You have either impaired glucose tolerance and/or impaired fasting glucose,as I recall, suggesting some defect in insulin signaling. Vanadium might actually do something for you, as might R-ALA.

Yes. Metformin has worked better for me as far as glucose disposal, however that is getting harder to come by without a prescription.
