Spider bites

Ok, this is strange. I did an injection this Wednesday, noon.

This morning, I have two fairly large bumps, they're itchy, red and warm. One is where the injection site was, and the other about an inch or two up from it.

I have had itchy skin before from the injections, but never swollen on the outside like this.

They're not sore though... could this just be an odd allergic reaction?

The second raised bump, not the injection site one, is rather large and is more swollen that it first was this morning.

I don't see how or why it could be, but say this might be the dreaded A, how long can I wait to see if it'll go away before I go see a doc?

might just be some hive type reaction.

if you have an infection, you will know something is up. A little red bump resembling a spider bite...probably nothing.

I would just watch it and see

It happen everytime my friend does his shot,i goes away after a few day. BB/BA is high in some gear,but it happens mostly in tnt,or t-400.

well, the bigger one was like 3". swelling has gone down a bit.. ya it could very well just be an allergic reaction.. strange it would happen on the 10th shot though when the others have been ok..

guess i can wait another day. if it gets worse, i'll know something's up.. otherwise i'll just chalk it up to a random allergic reaction.

It might have leaked out of the muscle and went under the skin causing that reaction.

yeah seems to me it got in betwen you muscle and skin i got that problem a few week ago it was hitchy and feeled kinda warm after a week it was gone. (glute shot with a 1 inch needle)

Oh, I hadn't even thought of that! Huh..

This is what I do everytime (Wed 12pm/Sat-Sun 12am):

- swab injection site with alcohol pad, swab top of bottle
- Heat bottle under running water (moderate heat)
- wait for alcohol to evaporate on bottle
- while 25g syringe still in wrapper, twist off tip and take out syringe
- attach syringe to 21g pin while in wrapper and take out to use
- push syringe into bottle, turn upside down and draw
- pull syringe out, give a few flicks and draw in a bit to get all oil
- swap tips
- flick again to get air bubbles to top and squeeze out
- with one hand pull on skin, push needle in
- aspirate
- slowly inject
- pull syringe out quickly, place alcohol pad on site and hold for a few minutes

At this point I'm only doing glutes, and I use 25g 1.5" to inject

So if the oil is leaking out of the muscle and in between the muscle and skin, is it still going to be absorbed properly?

Things to watch for : increasing size day over day, redness, warm to the touch, painful. If its going down, keep and eye and you'll prolly be OK. Tell wadrow your injection routine, he'll examine that.

sometimes as you push the plunger, the syringe comes outwards towards the plunger instead of the plunger going in towards the body.
I watch in two different mirrors when doing glutes and get two angles

you swab early. Make sure you are hitting your swabbed area
i swab right before jabbing

push air into the vial before drawing. 1cc air in, and get 1cc oil out. this will prevent a sucking in through the stopper

i think you are mixing up your needle gauges
25 for jab, 21 for draw

Needle goes all the way in.. stays there.. I mean, it might move a tiny tiny bit cuz I don't have a very steady hand, but I'm getting better at holding it still.

I swab that early cuz I swabbed just before injection when I first started and it stung like hell.. but I can try to do it last, just before injection but let it evaporate a bit longer.

I haven't been injecting air into the bottle, I'll try that. Do I have to draw the air back out afterwards, or does that happen anyway on it's own? Is air staying in the bottle bad for the gear in any way?

I'm drawing with 21g and pushing with 25g.
