Who here has filled this out and after the 31 days did the calls stop.

My father was getting all the same ones I do and driving the old guy nuts..(we recently lost mom) He had to answer the phone because it could have been then the hospital calling about his wife. So I did his number too. I have 3 lines in the house..the teens, home and my business line. I was getting them on all 3 and sometimes in unison of each other. Even though I did 4 numbers the site didn't mind.

The Credit Card Company! Grrr
The Cruise Worse Grrr
The lawn companies I love my weeds..fo
Memorial companies I aint dead
Carpet cleaning Sears is the worst and I hate the service they do.

Grrrrr I'll report back after the 31 days if it worked.

Let us know those calls are the worst. And they always come when your expecting a call, or right when you sit down to eat at dinner :mad: You can always tell because you get that 5 seconds of silence when you first say hello.

Want to really mess with them? Here's what i did, i answered and ya it's tele marketing, i tell him to just hang on for a second while i quickly take care of something and that i really want to hear what he has to say. I put the phone down and continue watching my movie. Not a word of a lie i wait 5 min. and pick up the phone to see if he's still there and sure enough he is. I couldn't help myself, i started laughing my ass off and than just hung up.

And yes we are on the list, it had damn well better work!

Ahh sorry BAM BAM. Like the telemarketers excuses "we can't control how often this is posted, it's a machine that posts it over and over again."

I signed up when the list was first activated...that was back in september? and we haven't had a call in a while, but I did get one of those aliased scammer calls from 000-000-0000 saying I'd won a cruise two weeks ago on my cell...guess the shmucks are just calling people illegally now.

when they call you, just ask them to remove your number form their calling list. It works and most of the time many companies use the same list. For me, it took care of that stupid cruise I won every week, that thing was driving me crazy!!

Same here...I signed up the first day it was offered...no more telemarketing calls, but I do get the occasional scammer call.

I already have call privacy, but signed up for this the day it became available. So far so good!! The calls have dropped off and I've reported those who keep calling.

# Once you have signed up, many telemarketers can no longer call you starting 31 days after your registration.
# You must renew your registration every three years if you want your number(s) to stay on the National DNCL.

* There are certain kinds of telemarketing calls and faxes that are exempt from the National DNCL, including those made by or on behalf of:

* registered charities raising funds
* newspapers looking for subscriptions
* political parties and their candidates, and
* companies with whom you have an existing commercial relationship; for example, if you have done business with a company in the previous 18 months––such as a carpet-cleaning company––that company can call you.

Complaints about telemarketers can be made through the National DNCL website (www.LNNTE-DNCL.gc.ca) or by calling the toll-free numbers 1-866-580-DNCL (1-866-580-3625) or 1-888-DNCL-TTY (1-888-362-5889).
