When I first saw the trailer for this movie, I thought M. Night Shamalamadingdong was finally getting back to his Sixth Sense ways. I was quite disappointed in this film.
The premise was shaky, at best. I found it very difficult to wrap my mind around the alleged cause for all the chaos. It just seemed outlandish to me. I know some movies you just have to suspend disbelief for a couple of hours, but this was WAY too much to ask me to go along with.
The ending was a stretch, too.
Mark Wahlberg was horrible. I am a big fan of his and usually find his acting believable and compelling, for a pretty boy. He somehow manages to come off as a badass, even though he isnt. In this movie, he seemed more like an upset schoolgirl. I did not like his acting whatsoever.
Zooey Deschanel is cute. I liked her in Bridge to Terabithia, but her acting was right on par with Marky Mark's. Lackluster and less than believable.
All in all, I actually didnt mind this movie as a time killer. However, I wouldnt recommend it if you are expecting something that will keep you thinking.
