Well,

Just saw the movie. I honestly don't know what the buzz is all about. I am pretty sure that this movie being Ledger's swan song helped in a big way.

The Dark Knight is now ranked #1 best movie of all time on IMDB, beating the GodFather, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars, Lord of the rings!!

My prediction is that as more votes come in, the movie will gradually loose it's number one spot.

I didn't think it was that good to be honest. Better than all previous batman franchises yes, but better then Coppola's masterpiece...never

The movie felt long and the story over-stretched and predictable. It was lacking a good solid story, nothing new with plot lines and characters that come out of nowhere and do nothing but add ambiguity. You witness constantly the same theme, every situation is seen numerous times in the same flavor in several other movies. The ending is weak and frankly, the movie could have ended half an hour earlier and you would still have gotten to the same conclusion.

The acting wasn't bad Christian Bale was all right, well except that dumb voice he gave Batman, Heath Ledger was very good (but an oscar?, c'mon!) and the rest of the cast was all right. Michael Caine played a solid role as the bottler.

IMHO, 7.0/10, no more.

Heath Ledger died man, no oscars for him that's for sure. Ingested a speedball/suicide from what I remember reading.

Yep. Like I say in my previous post, this is the only reason I think people are raving so much about that movie. It is sad really when you think about it that the producers are capitalizing on someone's death...but that is showbiz. And then you have the rest of the flock, people that never seen the movie but give it a 10 anyways out of respect for the deceased actor.

Very true, I liked the Jack Nicholson joker better anyways. I like my joker like from the Batman animated series, a lovable psycho kid at heart. :a+

I agree it was friggin long!! I hated the voice too, it sounded like he was trying to hack something up.
I did like the overall movie, it is def a rental though. I wouldn't suggest watching it in the theatre.

I still think that it will be worthy of watching, I like dark movies.

I agree with the Ledger capitalization idea. It is what it is.

Loved the movie, would have loved it way more had it been 30mins shorter.
