Well,
Just saw the movie. I honestly don't know what the buzz is all about. I am pretty sure that this movie being Ledger's swan song helped in a big way.
The Dark Knight is now ranked #1 best movie of all time on IMDB, beating the GodFather, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars, Lord of the rings!!
My prediction is that as more votes come in, the movie will gradually loose it's number one spot.
I didn't think it was that good to be honest. Better than all previous batman franchises yes, but better then Coppola's masterpiece...never
The movie felt long and the story over-stretched and predictable. It was lacking a good solid story, nothing new with plot lines and characters that come out of nowhere and do nothing but add ambiguity. You witness constantly the same theme, every situation is seen numerous times in the same flavor in several other movies. The ending is weak and frankly, the movie could have ended half an hour earlier and you would still have gotten to the same conclusion.
The acting wasn't bad Christian Bale was all right, well except that dumb voice he gave Batman, Heath Ledger was very good (but an oscar?, c'mon!) and the rest of the cast was all right. Michael Caine played a solid role as the bottler.
IMHO, 7.0/10, no more.
