I move a tamper with a handle I swing over forms with a smaller action. The difference from a traditional deadlift here is that you can pull from your center, and don't have to get as low. There is a lot more hip extension action going on in this vid.

Yeah, I read that and thought it was interesting but I still think Pull Throughs are probably easier to set up and just as useful.

I've tried pull throughs and I agree the hip extension part is there, but I never feel quite stable.Maybe I need to adjust technique.Looking at the two vids,it appears rom is greater with the pull through, but I'm sure axial loading must be greater with the kettlebell.

Besides momentum I don't see much force being applied...but I do see serious injury on the horizon.

If somebody didn't know how to activate glute involvement they might try to compensate by overarching the lumbar spine.

On pg 142 of Brett Contreras excellent glute book,he quotes Mike Boyle.

"Mike Boyle wrote an excellent article on the alternating pattern of joint stability and joint mobility in our bodies, which was entitled,"A Joint By Joint Approach To Training".(In this article,he explained how the hips need to be trained for mobility while the low back needs to be trained for stability). If one cannot open up the hips, then maximum muscle activation will never be reached".

I believe Talo has talked about the need to open up the hips previously.
