View Full Version : First ever bodybuilding show in 24 weeks : Diet + Cycle advice sought

I'm thinking of doing my first ever bodybuilding show at a competition that is 24 weeks away. At present at I'm 33, 6'2", 225 ~12%BF (calipers), which means 198 lbs LBM.

The show I'm doing is competition is non-tested but reserved for first-timers, the heaviest category are the heavyweights and the division starts at 198 lbs. At 6'2" I certainly need to come in (much) heavier than that.

I expect I could hit at 5% BF at around 208 lbs, factor in some dehydration and I would expect to be able to be about 203 on comp day, which is still pretty close to the minimum division weight for a guy who will probably be the tallest on stage that day. Ideally I would want a couple more pounds LBM and come in on contest day at 220 (100 kg).

So basically I'm looking for the approach that would yield the most LBM gains in the weeks I have left all the while keeping BF at a level where I can still diet down to contest levels of BF on time for the competition. I'm split on whether I should go for a more moderate bulk to keep fat gain under control and make it easier lean down in the final weeks but compromising total mass gains, or if I should up calories more and allow BF to go higher then just diet harder at the end.

I'm also open for advice regarding the cycle I was thinking of running:
Here's what I have on hand to get the first weeks going
1x Test 400 400mg/ml, 10ml
1x EQ 300mg/ml, 10ml
1x Deca 300mg/ml, 10ml
1x Anadrol 25mg, 100 capsules
1x Clenbuterol 200mcg/ml, 50ml
1x Clomid 50mg, 50 capsules

I was planning to do this cycle for the first weeks,
1-7 Anadrol 50 mg/d
1-10 Test 400 mg/wk
1-10 Deca 300 mg/wk
1-10 EQ 300 mg/wk

Then order more gear to run this for the remaining weeks leading to the show.
11-20 Test Prop 200mg/eod
11-20 Tren A 75mg/eod
15-20 Anavar 50mg/day
19-20 Masteron 100mg/day
clen/t3 if needed.

Dont have time to respond to all right now but get all your gear and stuff before you start. Happens more pften than you realize someone will run out of something or forget or think they can get it whenever. Better safe than sorry

So you are doing PCT during your show? Is that what your timeline states? Am I reading it wrong?

Just a quick post to say that don't be surprised its you lose more weight than you think. Too many people get set on what they should weigh and then sacrifice conditioning in the process. unless this is your first cycle, the goals above might not be achievable in terms of stage weight.

First off you can forget about the numbers you are posting...that is not reality..it is assumption and as Steve said most guys lose ALOT more weight then they think they will in order to get lean enough to be competitive. If you are 225lbs now (forget caliper BF % thats hogwash) then most likely you will need to drop 30lbs minimum to get into serious shape and that doesnt include water. You have 24 weeks to the show which means you have 8 weeks to gain a bit of muscle (a few pounds would be doing fantastic) and then the diet starts 16 weeks out. I would really suggest keeping your diet clean as clean as possible...ie lower carb higher fat higher protein to prevent fat gain...structure carbs around training only. Simple cycles are all you need...they wont determine whether you gain 1lb or 5lbs lean mass...your diet and training will. Long ester test(cyp), deca, and maybe an oral for the first 8 weeks...front load the test and deca and run the oral starting week 4-7 if its anadrol.
The for the diet switch the test to enanthate and the deca to EQ for the first 8 weeks then sustanon and tren for the last 8 weeks. Add the masteron in at 6 weeks out...anavar is optional...I would save it for the next offseason. You will need clen and T3 so as Nate said get all your gear before you start.

Might I also chime in and perhaps add an anti e....I found that nolva starting 6 weeks out helped me quite a bit (hoping it wasnt placebo lol)
