hi p,

just a general observation and i am just using mike francois as an example i saw a pic of him from 1995 and |WOW. have we regressed or progressed since then, 16 years ago either he was ahead of his time or he's proof that all the stuff u find in stores these days from a to z in supplement stores is total garbage coz besides whey prottein and multis etc ( u can better tell this since u been around longer in the game then me) what else there might be, but it seems all that is needed is maybe genetics, hard work , diet sleep and a whey protein powder and mutli.

did bb back in 1995 have access to gh and insulin etc? just wonder if he was competing today would he be even bigger i can't imagine.

thx

The reality of the supplement business is that the majority of products are just marketing hype. There are a few staples that have been with us for years and that do work well...mainly creatine and whey protein...isolate form is best. I dont consider multi vitamins etc as bodybuilding supps per se...not to say that they arent necessary....joint support, vits, fish oils, fibre etc are all supps but i would class them as overall health products not anabolic or performance enhancers. Yes back in 95 they had gh and slin...it just wasnt used in the dosage it is now...99% was pharm and it was very expensive.
Here is the reality of BB...almost all guys at the pro level train the same, use the same exercises, do very similar cycles, some more then others yes but generally same stuff give or take, eat the same food, diet very similarily etc...its not rocket science. However there are many in the industry that would have you believe that there are magic training routines, super cycles, never before tried diets etc...its a bunch of BS really...they make it sound complicated and intricate when it is basic stuff...the reason...so a guru can charge crazy money to dial you in...didnt you hear....FST 7 made Phil Heath a monster...what a load.
The common denominator is genetics...you either have them or you dont...period. This is why many pros dont have to diet strictly or train correctly etc...they can get away with it because of superior genetics...which also means they respond much better to aas then most people.
Mike Francois was a monster...he definitely was ahead of his time.

HE was awesome...apparently one of the only bodybuilders allowed into Westside Barbell club because he was so strong.
