I wanted some opinions on working there as a driver/courier? How are they to work for..company culture, wages etc...

I don't work "for" them, but I work "with" them. I am a broker and do work for Fedex, UPS, Purolator, etc... Most of the guys there seem to stick around. I think the pay starts around $16/hr and climbs to around $25/hr.
There is the occasional turnaround, but you get that at any place.
I get paid per delivery, so I make more than them, but I don't have benefits.

I work with a UPS manager at my work. My work is his second job .. the contract the teamsters have with UPS is amazing. However, part time sucks ... if you can get into full time your laughing. I can get the info if you like this Saturday when i see the Ups manager.

thx..its actually a job posting for a Fedex express courier but it says they need someone on a casual basis (cover sick days, vacation etc..)
Sounds like a way to get your foot in the door.

It really is .. the full timers get 2 hours a day over time at least. They make great money.. I think something like 27$ per hour plus tones of over time. Not sure if Fedex is union or not but i would imagine they pay decent.

I just know that UPS hires form within and usually drivers started loading and unloading trucks. Very good company to work for, worked there during University and was asked to drive after a while but I had different plans.

With the increase of online shopping I suspect these companies will reap the benefits. Maybe it is time to buy up Fedex and UPS stock.

UPS offer stock options and guys make a killing that's another good reason to work for them
