Hello everyone.. the question below is on behalf of a beautiful friend of mine who has set herself up for a lot of pain...
I was hoping for some additional advice and thank everyone in advance for feedback.
BACKGROUND: A friend of mine is going on a 3 week long bike tour through a developing country. Problem is, she has not trained one bit...
Facts:
She is 28 years old, slim, not physically active at all and not too knowledgeable about fitness. The trip will consist of 6+ hours of biking though a developing country with a tropical climate.
I believe that they will be riding 6 days a week, which leaves little time for recovery.
She is obviously setting herself up for significant, initial soreness and pain...
Even though there is no magic to this, she will be in pain, no matter what, I was hoping to provide her with a list of things/ supplements that will ease things slightly.
I've been thinking of anti inflammatories, sufficient fluid intake, good diet and stretching.. etc...
Do you have any more detailed suggestions or methods you would suggest to my friend??
