Hi!

I've switched around 180 degree about 4 weeks ago, from dieting at around 1600cals (50% protein 15% carb 35% fat) being 142 9%BF to a bulk diet.

I'm on gear (EQ and Tren ... I know I know Test should be in also), so I though if I want to up my body weight in order to compete in (mid nov), I should be bulking right now...

SO....

I took a really bad binging week where I was pretty much all over the place... eating a whole nutella jar by the spoon... yeah, pretty bad. because of the gear I remained near 10%, going to 151lbs in about a week.

Now I'm on a strict, clean bulk diet (oats, yams... and dextrose PW)

2700cal, 300g protein, 280 carb and trace fats... I'm gaining about 0.5lbs per *day*, right now probably a 11-12%BF and 163lbs.

question is, is it normal to feel like I'm pregnant all day long? I mean, it's like I feel like my stomach is not done digesting the last meal when it's time to scarf down another cup of potatoes and chicken... the bloat is not terrible, but I'm scared I'm taking too much abdominal fat... even on a decent amount of gear and bustin' ass in the gym, I can't believe I can build muscle as fast a the rate I'm gaining weight.... I've got a good 10 years of training, 6 of those really hard and in a way I'm scared of losing the abdominal tightness that took so long to build.....

I would very much appreciate opinions, comments... I want to bulk, because I'm too light to compete, but I think maybe I'm putting too much faith on the gear to help me convert that much intake to muscle ?

thanks!!!!

First at 150lbs I personally don't think you need to be on any gear.

Anyways, a question for you that I have is how often are you going the washroom ? Maybe you should add in a fiber supplement ( fiberlyze s a good one ) if that's any issue

im gonna toss in 'peripheral edema' after reading Prae's diagnosis in another similar thread. You binged way to hard for too long on carbs following a carb restricted diet and now your body is retaining way more fluid than it should.

of course I'm no doctor and this is just a guess ;)

You need to let the body re-adjust into carb use once again, it takes a couple of weeks for the body to switch over from low carb to higher carb, either do it quick and look and feel like poop for a couple/few weeks, or do it moderately slowly adding in more carbs as the weeks progress....

I was thinking about disgestive enzymes... and at the quantity of oatmeal I'm taking I should be enough for soluble fiber....

thanks for the replies.... time is of the essence.... so I'll take the quicker route... especially while the aas window is there...

it's the 5th day and I'm already feeling better than on monday

When you up your carbs, you retain more water instantly. when you go from low carbs to high carbs you also have a rebound effect.

and also, check your carb source. Gluten bloats you up, along with other processed food.

jeeeeez man 142 and on aas is crazyyy, but watch out for ankles and hands swelling up very unhealthy, your body will eventually get used to the carb intake

mm.. not that crazy, not at 30yr 5'6 and below 8% .... granted no aas would be needed if it wasn't a bit of a time issue for contest prep, the fact that I am fairly knowledgeable, well coached, need to train 5X a week twice per day on some days and recover... strict nutrition and am preparing for my first show..... all in all I think it ain't such a sin to go on a 8-9wk cycles with proper ancilliaries....

thanks for the input though. 2cups of oatmeal is nothing now

glycogen is a combo of water and glucose. every gram of carb stores 3 grams of water so if u all of a sudden add in an extra say 454 grams of carbs it will store 3 lbs of extra water for a 4 lbs gain. 1600 cals is way too low cal for any male to diet on.

I agree, next time I try maintaining around 1800-1900 cal and get the deficit with lactated inducing training, HIIIT sessions and proper dieting with lots of fish oils. It seemed at the time a good idea to go to extreme (1400cals per day) when dropping the last few bf % points. I honestly was getting fairly low with lower abs vascularity (got pictures). However now I think with feedback I should've include some more cardio and eaten a bit more...

right now I'm at 8lbs from the heaviest I've been... and nowhere as fat. Although I'm scare at the sight of any fat gain -however small, I keep in mind that there is a net lbm gain... so I try not to panic ; )

I try to keep the cals clean an constant.... but I think I am reaching equilibrium ... no move in weight for the last 5 days with every variable the same
