GSP and Mir win for sure. The others I haven't watched enough to judge.
Saunders has muscled up and improved, but it's a very big order to beat Fitch.Hoping for Carwin.

GSP is a good fighter and will take hardy no problem.
Only other one I know kinda is Mir, should be a good fight as well, with Mir winning.

some goofy reffing in this event.
hardy is one tough mother****er. glad GSP won though.
i don't know if carwin showed enough to convince me that he'll beat brock, hope he does anyway.
there was a beauty titty shot in the crowd.

bocek got screwed too. no way was that a unanamous decision. 2nd round was all his, and the 3rd was a coin flip.
split decision at best
gsp owned, carwin too, but he wont beat brock.
mir will fight do santos i think next

gsp vs dan was so boring. when my two cat's scrap they put on a better show.
I though the whole event was boring to watch.

I found it very entertaining. Maybe because I appreciate the skill level in what GSP does. He has a game plan and doesn't deviate from it. I enjoy seeing the technical artistry he brings.
If you want a slug fest maybe you should stick to boxing. oh wait...
Yes, I enjoyed watching the gsp fight, but I found most of the others were boring an unmemorable.
I bet Hardy's arm is sore today.
What do you think of the bold statement Hardy made afterward " I don't tap"
I have a feeling he'll live to eat those words some day.

GSP showed again that he is by far the best fighter in welterweight. Very technical fight that is more entertaining to those who understand MMA than the casual fan. I will admit I fast forwarded through some of it (mostly the submissions because I can't stomach seeing arms go that way).
Does this confirm GSP is moving up a weight class?

gsp is the best at what he does, now its time to give the fans what they want, i understand and appreciate MMA more than most, but i still dont want to watch 5 rounds of lay and pray. After the fight hardy didnt even have a scratch, if gsp can dominate like that he should try throwing a few punches and maybe finish a fight, being the best doesnt make him the most entertaining to watch thats for sure.

would you change your style to make things more entertaining?
You do what you have to in order to win.
Why risk your career just because people want to see more entertaining fights? I certainly wouldn't. My life and my livelyhood come first. Hes got bills to pay after he is done with the sport. I say take the wins regardless of whether they look entertaining or not.

If he continues to win in a boring fashion no one will care about his fights, or will always be dissapointed, even in his wins. A truly exciting fighter that loses fights once in awhile will always have a job and be more entertaining to watch. (and my style is very exciting BTW...lol)

can't disagree with that. the onus is on hardy to finish GSP.
hardy is obviously made of rubber, would the fight still have been as boring if he had tapped? it would have been finished there with most other fighters.
i hate lay and prey too, check congo infuriates me every time i see him fight, that said, i was fine with GSP vs hardy, there was still enough action for me.

look at stephan bonnar, or paul buentello, do those guys even win fights?? not really, but they make for exciting fights. All im saying is that if you are so superior to your competion, why cant you finish him? Or stand up for the 5th round and prove you are still the man. I dont know, i used to love watching gsp, but when was the last time he didnt just wrestle a guy to a decision??

Agree :) He had a belt to defend...he came out with a plan of action like most do before a fight. Hardings plan of action was to stay standing and box it out... but he did not follow through..... GSP does not need to work on his stand up...Harding needs to work on staying on his feet/ground work.

i know what you're saying bro and i agree (anderson silva also comes to mind), i wish everyone went for it like forrest does....but i believe nate may have hit the nail on the head.
gsp commented post fight that he was disappointed in his inability to finish him, so at least he is aware, maybe we'll see more out of him in the next fight?
i wonder too, how much greg jackson is to blame? gsp is reputed not to deviate from jackson's instructions.

Im a huge UFC fan but i have to say i was disappointed with the GSP Hardy fight. Hardy could not hang with GSP whatsoever. He must really work on his takedown defence because to be honest GSP made him look like a bitch everytime. Good victory for us Canadians over the brits tho. GSP sure wiped the smile of the "OUTLAW" stupid face. Keep smiling buddy and being a show boat while GSP one of the most humble martial artists tools you. But honestly Hardy has a hugggeee heart and a shit load of toughness for not tapping while GSP wrenched on his arm in the arm bar 2 TIMES. Unbelievable...
The best fight of the night was Carwin and Mir. Carwin is a gorilla a tru beast who is angry than shit. He pounded Mir and that is insane seeing that mir is a very hard nosed heavy fighter. Mir did have very very poor conditioning tho kind of embarrasing for a pro athlete of some sort.

At the end of the day people remember who won rather than how they won.
Case and point are the NJ Devils. Terrible team to watch play but they get it done, but it is a balancing act. MMA is a sport, but the UFC is sports-entertainment and they have to put out a product that appeals not just to the diehards. Personally I think there is a saturation of fights and they need to make better cards.

Hardy got shut the **** down simple as that. GSP did what he needed to do in order to win the fight and he did it quite well. Hardy went into the fight talking all sorts of shit about how he was going to dominate GSP and shut him down and GSP being the gentleman that he is basicly said his work will speak for itself and it DID at that.
You see the look on Hardy's face come the second round....lol, that smug look of "arrogance" was turned into "Oh shit what the **** and im gunna do now?".....lol
You can either knock a dude out or shut him down completely for 5 rounds in a row, either way shows dominance and either way is a good show IMHO.
I was laughing my ass off the whole time during the GSP fight just because of the look on Hardy's face...lol.
IMHO not only is GSP the best pound for pound fighter in the world, but he's also a super nice guy,not a shit talker and he's very humble.

well if you find holding a guy down on the ground for 5 rounds interesting you must lead a boring life. maybe he could have done that for another 10-20 rounds and everyone would commend him on his stamina. If he is such a true champ there is more than one way to win a fight and he's not doing it. maybe he's afraid to lose if he takes a chance so he just hold's the guy down to the end. gsp is very routine he alway's does his showboat superman punch(he did two in this one because the first one missed) in the middle of the fight and would shoot in within 20-30 seconds of the round.
I've been around since the first ufc's and watching those fight's with hardly any rules and the matchup's makes today's ufc not as good.
