Alright I usually stick to oats and potatoes as my carb choices but I wanna change it up a bit and eat some rice. Now I bought a big bag of basmati rice and on the label it says 1 cup rice= 48 gram carbs. Is this dry or cooked? The reason I ask is when I make 1.5 cups(dry) it turns into more then double that when cooked.Sorry if it is a stupid question , I got the flu so I'll blame it on that.Thanks.

I suspect that is the number of grams of carbs in a cup of average, cooked rice. Rice is pretty heavy, and likely weighs well over 48 grams per cup, probably around 200 grams per cup uncooked, so that has to be the content of the cooked rice. Unfortunately that's going to vary somewhat depending on how you prepare it.

That's what i was thinking, thanks for the reassurence BB.
My long grain rice has 37 carbs per 45 grams of dry rice.
