last night at my gym i had the pleasure of seeing a girl outsquat (with proper form) 80% of the guys at my gym... 5'6 prolly around 130lbs

1st set: 185 for 7
2nd set: 185 for 6
3rd set: 185 for 5
4th set: 185 for 4 (couldnt finish the 4th rep tho)

she killed it!

i had told her about CBB a few weeks ago, so, if YOU are reading this, congrats :D

generally i start with 95 pounds put i have stupid high reps...
i can sometimes go up to 185 for full sets

Did squats tonight and did a new personal best.

135 for 10 (warm up)
185 for 5
225 for 5
255 for 5
275 for 5
295 for 3 (new personal best)

squat numbers don't say much unless u know the debth. my latest x was squating 215 for 10 below parallel in a belt at 12 1/4 inch debth from the ground. another x in the past could do 330 below paralel ina a hard core suit only. 275 for 10 below in suit botoms and 245 for 10 raw. she was 132. the newer x is 140. Ive never seen a girl who wa not a powerlifter squat deep and heavy ever in my 24 years of training. Not saying no one does but its too bad more dont ass is so good for building that beautiful round ass we all like.

Well you came to Moxam a few times Greg...BUT it wasnt on a Leg day to see my Wife squat....She can out squat most men in the gym and deads an easy 4 plates for reps. bench is a little weak at just over 225 or so raw now....offseason she hits it hard with 315 on the smith on the incline for reps.

Wow Greg, you really know how to crush someone who just tried to accomplish something here.

For your info, I don't know the EXACT depth but it was parallel, not below but at least parallel. I ALWAYS train with good form, because I was trained by a former competitive powerlifter even though I never competed in an actual competition. I do know proper form and good enough to compete in a real meet. I train as if I was going to compete in one or why bother to do them. I did however compete in a bench press competition where they use REAL rules, even though it was a charity bench press competition.

I also did my squats with only a belt and no squat suit or knee wraps.

And my ass is round thank you very much! :D

Maybe you haven't been to the right gyms to see us other women squatting. LOL :D That is a pretty big blanket statement to be making about women squatting.

Good feedback..And i agree, im a stickler for form and depth as well..CC has great assets, and she busted her ass getting them......Not sure of her max as we dont go max often, but its definitely up there.....225 for 10 pretty easy, not sure of max though, but she weighs around 165 or so......and solid as a rock.....no muffin tops over here....lol

well i supposedly french I guess. Ah taking things to personal. I think my blacket statement covers the majority quite well. obviously there are that .1% that are not covered by the blanket. I mean we can't all fit under this one blanket. Same thing for guys you know. Only a handful of times have I ever seen someone who does not compete in powerlifting sqaut below parallel, thats wh when I read about pros squating whatever they say they are I wonder what they would squat below parallel. Below parallel for me is on an 11" crate. every 1" higher I squat 20 more lbs. I used to to bench squats which were at 18" which are still lower then most but its not a real squat. used to do 6 plates for 10 liek that but like I say its not real squating.
ON this site we pretty much know all the strongest girls out there, so basically what were reading is the very rare exceptions and the elite (best of the best) so to speak. your all not normal to be that strogn u must know that,.

^^ he has a point. male or female, most people do half reps at BEST. i see more people doing quarter squats than anything.

I had a tough time learning to squat atg...I had to start with front squats. But eventually, got the flexibility and balance to do it. It;s very humbling to go down in weight to learn to do it properly...but now I don't accept anything less than parallel from clients or myself.

max I ever did is 315 for 3 at parallel level, but not below, with belt, no strap. Did it only once, just for me, my own little ego :) Now I go lighter...225 for reps is my average.

friend of mine used to squat 225 ass to grass for 10 reps. shes about 5'9-5'10 and 140lbs (ish) quite lean.

she was an athlete and trained for sport performance only, not into lifting for the sake of lifting. it was my favorite thing to see her out squat the useless football team who were doing 1/8 reps.

keep in mind she had excellent genetics and her brother was a giant freak of nature

I'm gonna brag too...not for me as these girls outsquat me but for my better half ...works up to 225 for 8-12 deep before going to 275 and 316 for 6 and 4 respectively...225's are real deep,smooth and easy...275 is parallel as is 315...deads 315 for reps too. Usually draws a lot of looks from others in gym when cranking this out...even those who are trying to let on they are not watching. Some of you may have seen her in BC interior gyms summer 2010 tuning up for provincial BB. 5'7", 175 lbs and shows at 155...new target...overall at 2011 BC's....coming soon to a gym near you in BC interior...lol...great posts gang

We both love the gym and training. I train her and she does the competing ...we do it together. We get ur response all the time...people are shocked that we do it together. We had no idea so many are out there without partner support...we know it would be very difficult.
It does get funny when she is dieting down though...last time she knocked a glass of water over and I was sitting close by...I didn't even notice it and she points at me and says in a "pissed off tone"....you laugh and I'll punch you in the floggin face...and then I did bust out laughing.
Anyway, I brag about her all the time...I live through her..lol..

Saw your comments in the thread about womens BB maybe being on the way out and women with muscles...amen to you...I love that physique in all stages...when she bulks and cuts...we all love women with muscles don't we...lol.

Well, we'll see what the year brings as for nationals. The lady that came 2nd to her in BC GM won the GM nationals so that has her motivated to kick ass this year. Our big goal is to try and get her the overall and lifetime qualification as she doesn't want to get in there with the HW yet....we are watching real close whats going to happen at shows across the country to see if the talk of this new division influences any of the placings before we get carried away...do we try and get her bigger...by a lot...or do we go for this new look which is really the old look...are u confused yet cause we are.

We were and are big fans of Lisa as well and we didn't know if she would be at prov this past year. We loved having a chance to stand next to her and see how it panned out. She was clearly better in the delts and arms and that long frame looks awesome on stage....we want to get Nanc more X framed out like Lisa...higher delts for sure and bigger thicker arms. Lisa was awesome and totally gracious and a great sport throughout the show...classy lady and a great example for us to follow. Nancy really liked competing against her.

And to go back to your first comment...that is a pretty nice ass isn't it...she was proud of it...I kept getting the "can u see stris in my ass" the last 6 weeks...lol

So...we just started hammering it here last week and she is 168 and climbing so we'll see where that goes...she loves squatting so we just may bust thru that 315 for 4....

Good stuff razor edge....Myself and countrychic recently relocated from the interior BC, and we are the same...We work together, car pool together, workout together, compete together, diet together, ride our Harleys together, and it is awesome...She is just better than me in BBing.....(so far, muahahaha)
Those that play together, stay together....
It is fun watching her outlift several of the fellas at the gyms we go to, it is also fun watching expressions as she walks over and grabs the weights and starts pumping away with weight the guys were just using...The funny thing is she doesnt even know how strong she is, as she really only works out with myself, and compares herself to that 165 lbs, against 265lbs, isnt fair, but i win:yeah, lol..., then we go to a city gym, and she has a reality check, and sees how strong she really is..
She is also a HW, and competes around the 150 mark, and sits around 165-170 off season.....I like both looks absolutely, its nice to see the softer feminine side, then its neat to see the walking anatomy chart when we diet down....Dont see to many folks that are together and respect each other like you and your other half....Kudos to you .....:flagC

Glad to hear some of you guys and gals have another half who is into it...I don 't know how the competitors that don't have the support do it....maybe I'm naive and just assume if someone, guy or gal, are going to commit their blood and guts to the iron, the diet and whatever else is involved to compete at a high level...then there must be a supporting spouse....I couldn't imagine not doing it with her, manipulating the diet, spotting the lifts etc...

And she says thanks for the positive feedback...she's still real shy about it...lol

Personally, I need to do squats more often, but I do notice people loading on all kinds of crazy weight sometimes at the gym, and they barely go down at all.. more like just burping their knees. Kinda like those guys that grab the huge dumbells for chest presses and only come down far enough to work their triceps.

Thoughts?

Kinda like those guys that grab the huge dumbells for chest presses and only come down far enough to work their triceps.

Those guys only go that deep as they are trying to lift their ego and its too big for their strength..lol..we're firm believers that warming up and then some sets just below parallel until the load gets real heavy and then just to parallel...we worry about the acl with the heavy load going too deep...

better to be safe then sorry, trust me starting from square one sucks, although hitting old "new" PR's feels just as good as the first time around.

I usually do like 3 sets super deep , most weight I can do safely is about plates + 10 per side.
then I do sumos with the plate +10
then front squats with the plate only
Then I pop heavy weight on and see what Ive got left
today I tried 205! got to parrellel, tried to stand up, farted, laughed and had to drop the bar!!

I Rule!!

I usually do like 3 sets super deep , most weight I can do safely is about plates + 10 per side.
then I do sumos with the plate +10
then front squats with the plate only
Then I pop heavy weight on and see what Ive got left
today I tried 205! got to parrellel, tried to stand up, farted, laughed and had to drop the bar!!

the WORST part about that.. 100% true! lol.. I swear to god between squeezing my bum cheeks from all the protein and broccoli and doing squats i am DESTINED to have an ass like your wife! lol

Today first day squatting since mid July for my girl...warmed up with extensions and then hit the rack....did warm up regime and then 185 for 8 below parallel...205 for the same....then 225 for 4 parallel and then for 6 parallel...finished up with 185 for 10 at parallel...she felt strong and wanted to try more reps at 225 but cut her off...she was trying to be macho..lol

No squatting since Jul as had some minor surgery and family holidays etc...so now we're off to the races again and starting heavy training regime for winter..

And D Girl...there was no farting so I can't top your post which I think is post of the year....

Well had the better half in the squat rack again today and she 's cranking out the sets with 225 pretty deep and easy and without warning...she stops, starts laughing and has to rack the weight. "Whats wrong" I ask and she is bucking up and says she just starting thinking about the girl on the thread farting and lost it...so thanks DryvrGrl...we'll start moving her up a bit more next week...hopefully without the buck ups...
