I was just listening to an old episode of superhuman radio and Dan John was the guest. He gave a trick to see if you`re overtrained that I find has a lot of logic to it.
He says to take a pencil and in 10 seconds make as many dots you can on the sheet of paper. When your totals are 10% less than your regular number of dots, your cns needs a break. He said the hands besides your testicles have the most amount of nerves and require many motor units to have them function properly ( If I understand that part correctly...) And when you`re overtrained they won`t function as efficiently as they should.
Another trick is to analyze your typing skills. If you notice you can`t type as fast as you normally do or tend to make many mistakes, it`s another indicator.
For me personally I just know. Little things annoye me, anything associated to lifting I find is a task and don`t feel like doing. I think about these things a few hours before doing them and keep thinking what a pain it is to do all of them... Stuff like getting my shakes ready, eating my meals on time or leaving the house at my specific time to start training at the given time...
He didn`t state the time of the day to perform this test so I wonder if it`s best to do so when waking up or some other time. Just thought it was a cool tip I wanted to share here and think you guys would like the episodes at superhumanradio.com. You should check it out.
