315 X 18 reps full ROM squats...
Tried to go for 20 reps, probably would have been able to if I didnt do my max dead right before... the burn started to get BAD at about 14 reps... felt amazing... pretty much ended my workout though... what a burnout.

I had just done 455lb deads and i BARELY racked the 315 after 18 reps, i probably would have done 20, but i wouldnt have racked it... my legs were turning into jelly on the last few reps.... the first 10-12 reps felt like nothing, but the burn is intense coming up on 20... i'd love to be able to do 405 for 20, I think I can do 12 right now... Im learning to love leg day more and more as I get more into doing squats... moving big weight is fun.
Ill go for 20+ reps with 315 next week, shouldnt be a problem.

Yep that works like a charm...after hitting 600 for 6-8 ill drop to 495 and it just floats up for an easy 10...then 405 feels closer to 225 lol.

A new PR in the squat this evening... 405!!!!. That's a 20 pound improvement over my previous PR. I credit SLDL almost entirely. It was ugly and the top was more of a back lift than a squat but I got it all the way down and all the way up.
My back is definitely the limiter on my squat right now. Between GM's and SLDL my previously stalled squat is back on the move. Woo hoo!!!

Back when I was 19 I didnt really know what the **** was going on. I was on a no carb diet, I was 185 pounds. And I benched 315 for 2 reps then 335 for 1 rep. Then the next day I was working triceps and I was doing 100 pound overhead DB presses and on rep 12 my shoulder snapped back and I tore my rotator cuff. I was out of the gym for 16 weeks in physio every other day. Really dumb.

It looked like you were moving around too much before and during the lift. I think I said this before but I'll say it again. You need better lifting shoes, it will make a difference.
Nice lifting man. 405 is HUGE !
You could try getting a nice arch in your back ( big belly ) , and keep your traps tight .
Also Chucks are great shoes to have and yes they do make a difference.
nice lift...as for the shoe thing....i advice against chucks for benching in....you want a thicker soled shoe imo.....i dont get as good leg drive with the thin, flat-soled chucks and my arch is nowhere near the same as when im in some basketball shoes....

Working back on my strength again for a spell.....
Did 5 plates/side squat for 8 or 9 low and slow......pretty easy after i was done wish i did more......
My bench was 365 for 4 easy ones, again i surprised myself a bit, thought it was going to be heavier, i did 2 sets of this and then 315 for 10......
Should get 405 for a couple in the next couple of weeks, once my brain feels it as easy, my numbers go up quick, i mind**** myself more often than not...lol...
squats hopefully will be at 6 plates/side in the next month or so, then prep time......

Hey ironwill i got a question for ya bro. Im trying to get my chest to pop out more/grow and im wondering if you think i should focus mainly on heavy incline bench rather then flat? I don't really do decline bench anymore because i already do decline DB presses on chest day.

2nd week into PCT getting over a flu... I used my anger and frustration and broke my PR for deadlift.
Warmed up 2, 3, 4 plates and went 5 plates for a 1RM. Started going for a 2nd rep but it wasnt going to happen. 1st rep was pretty solid though. Dropped a plate and went 4 plates for 6 reps right away too, strongest back day ever... I was happy. Strangly enough this is my 3rd time actually having strength gains in the 2nd week of my PCT, this has happened consistantly after every cycle...
I have to give a ton of credit to the Dave T deadlift thread, what a help..

Well I don't have nearly as impressive numbers as most of you on here... but I have made some decent progress over the last few months.
I've added 100lbs to seated rows, did a full set tonight with 300lbs (strict form).

I benched 343 for 14 today but thats with test levels at .8 bioavailable test and 3.7 total test which is like 1/2 of what a crappy guy should have. O and FSH was 2.1 and LH 1.0. which is also low or below normal. HOnestly I felt pretty good for having pathetic test levels. I figure Ill be at alot of weight for a lot of reps in the near future.

Bench Press - 135x5x3
Deadlift (gloves+chalk) - 315x5x1 / 335x3x1
Deadlift (strap+belt) - 405x1x1

Some people have taped me but I don't see it on youtube. Don't really care for that sort of thing. My workout is a very private and personal - I don't even notice anyone in the gym. My best raw squat is 550, my best squat with knee wraps is 600.
I hit the 750 on a speed squat day, a guy had a suit that we figured would fit me and I had never tried one before. We threw it on (that was an ordeal) and we kept adding weight until I blew out both my eyes. Then we took off the suit (waaay harder than putting it on) and I did nothing else that day.
I will video tape it the next time I borrow his suit.

The world record for a raw squat is 690lbs @ 275lb bw and 825lbs for 308 class.
So even if you drop your weight and your squat drops too , you would still hold the World record.

Pls tell me you're joking. There's several power lifters from Montreal Barbell that's a lot lighter than me that have done 800 lbs or more (see youtube).
I know that they wear a bodysuit - that can't make much of a difference - can it?
Now that I may soon never be able to squat again - I'll never be able to repeat this feat.

Why do you care if I give a guy shit about posting numbers that he will never substantiate and are in all likelihood completely fake. I've always been an ass...

This guy is claiming to be the best squatter of all time. Not just by a little bit...by A LOT. I think we should ban him just for being annoying lol...

Yep, those are pounds. There are some stupid strong people out there.
And there are even more ridiculously strong people that don't compete, so while I am not saying that I blindly believe HULK's numbers, I am not going to say that it is impossible either.

that 123 lifter must be insane. it isn't until you get up to the 160+ pound guys where the lifts are overtaken. usually you don't see that kind of outlier at the top level...one you get to the elite, usually there is at least a progression from lowest to highest

Check the records.
While I'm waiting to have my left femur replaced, yesterday I squat 800 lbs for 9 reps raw .
you wouldn't happen to be a backhoe, would you?

Hey Shortdave, would wearing breifs help bodybuilders in their regular leg workouts. Your thoughts appreciated as are other powerlifters or power bodybuilders. Just trying to figure out how to make the most out of the next 7 months of offseason training.

I think that a loose worn in set of briefs could be helpful IF you are a wide stance squatter and you have hip problems or are concerned about your hips. Briefs and other supportive gear don't make you stronger they just allow you to handle more weight in a way that puts less stress on the joints.
So in terms of bodybuilding, I personally don't think they would be worth the money and hassle unless your hips are a concern.

I often wear loose suit bottoms when doing squats, sometimes when doing deadlifts as well...I actually, I would have to say I more often than not use bottoms. Not saying its necessary, but I've always enjoyed mmy offseason time handling a little more weight, and it also helps with nagging injuries. Bottoms can really take away from the hip pain when squatting. I find it keeps my form in check as well.

Thanks O!
A standup is just what it sounds like, you put the hooks (or safeties) a couple of inches below your lockout and then you standup, lockout and hold it for a while, usually between five and ten seconds, depends on what yoiou can do, and sometimes 5 seconds feels like 10... or an hour.

you probably did get shorter Dave. 1040 has to have some serious compression on your joints.

yeah, thats nuts...Usually doing my max 1 rep squat below parallel fully suited - one of the hardest parts is getting it off the bar and walking back to get ready to do my lift

This last week....few hilights
bench......405 for 2 no spot....315 for 12 no spot had lots of gas left in tank, 365 for 7, working up to 405 touch chest slowly, and back up...No bouncing bullshit...
db bi curl standing 1 arm at a time.....80 for 14, 85 for 10, then 90 for 8, no swinging, good form...
BB bent over rows, 315 for 10 lots of gas left in tank, 365 for 6 , 405 for 4, no straps, 70 degree bent angle...
Incline bench flyes......70 for 18, then 80 for 12 or so, and 100s for 6-8 reps, no spot big arch, hurts so good, slow negative, real slow, and power up...
Deads were 5 plates /side, for several, i dont count, i get to dizzy and focused... Ill get cc to count next week when she is back..
Squats was 5 plates /side, real deep, again, not sure, probably 8 or so....
DC rack chins......2 45 lb plates on my lap, and 15 clean reps, then 12, then 10 to finish off behind head pullups.. to the front are much easier...
I cant think of anything much else right now...Im starting to log lifts next week to get some PRs etc as my offseason mass building is in full swing as of 5 weeks ago....sitting at 257 lbs after 12 weeks off and trying to maintain what i could...
Ill be back in here later for some updates...:);)

How's your back rehab going , Steve ?
well, after 4-5 sessions of deep tissue, there has been significant improvement in my hips / hamstring / glutes. The back is getting worse though oddly enough. Simply things like back pulldowns put strain on my lower back. I have given it 8 weeks now, no deads or squats or leg presses. And basically I think what I have now is just a nagging injury that I CAN work around. I think suit bottoms will be my savior. I know I could do squats and deads now if I had to. But my choice is to give it as much healing time as possible JUST IN CASE it has the ability to improve even more.
I was to the point where I couldn't tie my own shoes, or run after my son when he's going into traffic, now, regular things I can do - so I am on my way. I think this will just be an issue I always will deal with - but that's no biggy for me. As long as I am not in constant pain, I am happy!
