Hi sweetpea, when you do a diet and eat less calories then your body need for maintenance it will become economical, he will adapt to survive like if you were going through a famine, that's why if you do a static diet, you will loose at first, then you will plateau, you need to make slight changes every now and then to keep loosing, it's also why most people gain back their weight very fast after a diet. So the replenishing meal will make your body 'forget' for a moment that you are on a diet and will help being less economical, among a few things it will boost your thyroid conversion T4-T3 and keep the diet more efficient without needing to push your diet even harder. So it's not only good for the mind, it also help to keep the diet efficient.

Coffee/caffeine capsules before training will help burn more fat, avoid the other fat burners stimulant as it hurts the adrenaline glands over time. But the body get used to caffeine very fast, so you need to take pause off of it and start back after a while, or not take some everyday.

A good quality multi-vitamins/minerals is really good to have, but I always says it's better to take none then take a cheap one. I would recommend ZMA before bed year round and 500UI Vitamin D per day. Creatine is also not bad to take. Omega-3 pills can be good, but there is some controversy and not everyone agrees, I still take them. That would be the basics IMO, I take them year round.
