“Successful people aren't born that way.
    They become successful by
establishing the habit of doing things
unsuccessful people don't like to do.
    The successful people don't always like these things themselves;
they just get on and do them.”

I'm trying to gain some lean muscle and tone up for the summer time as well as in general. Also, I still have a bit of "flab" on me and such so, starting about two months ago, I've been working out 5 days a week, being in the evenings an hour or so after I eat supper, cause i have a 3 year old and I attend college during the days. I skip rope for 30 mins to an hour, depending on the day. Then I do weights for an hour. I'm planning to start drinking whey protein (isolate) after my workouts. To achieve my goal for a slim toned body, should I stick with salads for lunches like I've been doing, eating fruits and veggies, and lean proteins. As for rice and pasta, which one should I stick with? If anyone can help me out and have any helpful tips or advice for me that would be great!!!!

    Thanks

it's about eating a correct balanced diet
    the right weight training program
    and cardio
how much for eat macro nutrient depends on lots of things
without a full assessment seeing what you look like, what your goals are, age, height, weight, how much fat, lean mass, and dwelving into lifestyle
    it's just a guessing game
best thing i can recommend is find a good coach
either in-person or online to work with you so you are not wasting valuable time
and you will get to your goals faster without frustration and confusion
think of it as you are in school / educating yourself
no different than if you want to learn how to fix your car yourself
you wouldn't just start ripping about ramdonly at your engines
you would either go to school and be a mechanic or you would find a teacher/mentor to show you how to do it correctly
at least i'd hope so lol

The reason most people never reach their goals is
    that they don’t define them,
or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable.
Winners can tell you where they are going,
what they plan to do along the way,
and who will be sharing the adventure with them.

Our goals can only be reached through
    a vehicle of a plan,
in which we must fervently believe,
and upon which we must vigorously act.
There is no other route to success.

    just do it

The trouble with not having a goal is
that you can spend your life
running up and down the field and never score.

Choosing a goal and sticking to it changes everything.

The tragedy of life doesn’t lie in not reaching your goal.
The tragedy lies in having no goals to reach.

    set a goal
    make a plan
    and just do it

The most important thing about goals is having one.

    First say to yourself what you would be;
and then do what you have to do.

    Do it now.
    You become successful the moment
you start moving toward a worthwhile goal.
    just do it
