Yeah, also you have to make note that Leon and Chris actually tied for 3rd. A tie breaker gave it to Leon, so its not like it was cut and dry... They were definitely close! Also, in the SHW, it was close, only 2 points seperated, so there would definitely be some judges who had chris ahead of bravo.

In my mind, Ron had the SHW division in the bag. Antoine was soft, he was much drier at night, as he always is - but in the morning, it was Ron's IMO. Judges obviously didn't see it that way as it was nearly unanimous for Antoine. Nationals has basically been decided on conditioning 9 times out of 10 in any/every class... Same as the overall - Much smaller guys have won on conditioning alone when the SHW showed up soft. (ex. Mike johnson, vince warwyck, santana). I am biased but I thought my bro had the overall. I wasn't shocked that he didn't win it though... That's bodybuilding! I would have however been extremely shocked if he didn't get the 2nd card.

What I want to see is a guy like Marlon John show up in out of this world mind blowing condition... This sport is difficult, because you have guys like that who would easily take an overall win any year if only they could just shred it up some!

As I revisit the photos of the show, I have to say that Chris's colour really hurt him!!!

I agree Andre...he looked pale...added colour could have moved him up a placing. Looking at both Chris and Leon (again for the tenth time) there is no comparison...easily Chris. I didnt think he was better than Jerome...but he does have the potential. He needs to work on a few things....details...bring the legs up, get grainy conditioning, get a nice dark colour, really work on polishing the physique. He doesn't need to get much bigger he just needs to bring up some weak points and present a better overall package.

I also had Ron ahead of Antoine...the show is judged in the morning so not sure what happened there.

Jerome followed a prep guys advice which backfired on him. He is doing the NA in a week so we will see how he looked doing it himself.

Just for the record this is what Chris Wong had to say about this whole thing....

I just want to speak for myself on the outcome of my placement. I started my prep 18 weeks from this show. I promised myself to bring the best package I can bring for Nationals. It was a long road but I feel I set out and accomplished what I planned. I am not the only one that made that decision. Everyone that competed put their lives on hold to do the same. When I was backstage looking around everyone did their homework and there was not one person I saw that didn't belong there. So I would like to congratulate every competitor there. This is a competition and it's judged by the finest in Canada. We all know that these kinds of competitions can be subjective but that is part of it.
I went there to have fun and to see how I can place among the finest athletes that Canada has. Just for the record, "I am happy with my placement." There is the opinions of others that may feel differently but please understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
The best part of this journey is that I have meet some amazing people along the way that share the same intrest and that means more to me than first place.
So I want to congratulate everyone that made it to the National Stage this past weekend.

    Your Friend,
    Chris "King Kong" Wong
