so funny when i did pt of the day it was the middle of the nite and pitch black
now i'm doin pt of the night in the middle of the day in the sweltering heat
in between naps cuz i'm too friggin exhasted to do anything cuz was up almost all night
plus worked out this am and did 2 clients
now just eating my 2nd round beef and rice
then back to bed
lmao... 1 month ta go

If we could change our attitude,
we should not only see life differently,
but life itself would be different.

All who have accomplished great things have had a great aim,
have fixed their gaze on a goal which was high,
one which sometimes seemed impossible

through all the trials and tribulations of my life
drug addiction (clean now since 1996), car accidents, divorces, injuries, surgeries, tragedies (like losing my baby brother in 1991 at 21yrs old), having a child, being a single mom for over 7 years, work, being a coach, a competitor, a full time personal trainer, a mom, a daughter, a sister, a wife, a friend....
thru it all i never ever ever lost sight of my goal: TO BE AN IFBB PRO BODYBUILDER
and here i am 1 month and 1 day out of Canadian Nationals
closer than i've ever been to my dream at 46 yrs old
i'll be 47 in november
no matter what i never lost my dream
i kept my eyes on the horizon
never listen to anyone that spewed negativity about my dream
said i could never do it
i didnt' have the genetics
well.... maybe others have better genetics than me
but one thing i got is HEART
oh and GUTS
and yes i may be stubborn for sure
but i also believe in myself
i believe in my dream
and i'm giving it my all
and on Oct 9th, 2011 i will walk out on that stage and say....
"here i am, this is the result of many years of hard work & sacrifice"
and thatz all i can do
and no matter what i will be happy in knowing that i did all i could
and thatz all you can do
and hope for the best
that little girl from Tynemouth, Northumberland, ENGLAND
by way of British Columbia, CANADA
and little Dawn who was picked on, beat up on, abused
who went down the road of addiction & survived crack, alcohol & drug addiction
and who has remained clean for 15 yrs this October
that little punk ass horse trainer that met & married one of the greatest powerlifters of all time who was 20 yrs her senior
who put her on the path of the Iron Sports
the same Dawn who was 1991 US National Champion Powerlifter
who at 37 her greatest accomplishment was having her son Storm
the things she's seen, been thru and survived
and come back at 46 to be better than ever
knows without a doubt that she has already won
just to have got to this point
and when you can get to this place
then no one can ever take anything away from you
because you are happy with yourself
and from coming from a person with a death wish, many many years of depression
to get to this place is impossible to put into words
how great a feeling it is
