Default Hey, from THE PROTEIN JUNKIE

    Hello fellow CBB bros,

How ya doin’? I wanted to take a few minutes out and finally introduce myself to the CBB family and make my presence here official. I’ve proudly been a member and reader since 2009 and stoked to have this come to fruition. So – here we go. My business, THE PROTEIN JUNKIE INC. (www.theproteinjunkie.com) and the niche in what it offers is unlike any other supplement distributor in Canada. How so?

To be more specific, I deal exclusively with the Universal Nutrition and their brother-brand families - Universal, ANIMAL and SportPharma. I only offer these brands however because I specialize with them (and am an authorized dealer to boot), I offer their supplements and gear items with selection and pricing like no other distributor in Canada. Wanna rock the ‘Squat Til’ You Puke’ T-shirt on leg day? Or maybe shake up the widely popular Sour Citrus Rush Torrent post w/o formula in your Universal Shaker Cup? Need to pack in some extra calories throughout the day and want to give Real Gains a whirl? These items, among other never before found gear and supplements are at your fingertips for the first time on Canadian soil. Ordering from the USA with its duty fees, brokerage/handling charges and risk of seizure/destroyed shipments with loss of funds to the customer and loss of product to the distributor are all considerable consequences associated with shopping over the border. And it’s with these consequences; American distributors are becoming more and more aware of Canada’s strict importation laws and are starting to prohibit check-out carts to Canadian addresses. Take note…the scene of the Canadian supplement world is changing. It’s with these changes I am here to offer a smarter alternative than what has ever existed for Canadians shopping for a superior brand that’s been around for decades…just not here.

Aside from what I offer, I also differ in other aspects that are no doubt a different spin for a supplement distribution business than you’re used to seeing too. How so?

For beginners, I’m not an executive professional with a multi-level business degree offering stellar marketing campaigns, club reward points, automatic e-flyers or ‘BOGO’ extravaganzas. I don’t up a price just to put it on sale or entice you with better pricing but only if you blow loads of cash on a giant order. A site business did not build me a custom site with fancy flash banners nor do I have custom logo designer items or a cheesy company slogan. I don’t Twitter, Facebook or even MySpace in your space. As an Owner, I don’t sit in a corner office while making a living with 24-7 access towards its development. I have no staff running my operation in a warehouse with hundreds of thousands of units in stock; I have no Sales Managers selling my idea or products, no Receptionist typing up a monthly newsletter or doing a daily bank deposit. No kiddin’.

Now for the record, there really is nothing wrong with any of that. It works seriously well for those who have the business knowhow, the time allowances and the funds to do it all. More power to ‘em. But I mention this cuz’ it’s important for me to voice that I am essentially who I work for – the customer – and work for ‘the people’ as ‘the people’. I am a one-man-show and a customer first and foremost, just like you. I work full-time for the man just like the majority of us which leaves me with only my personal time to spend on this project, like a hobby. I spend my time answering my own e-mails, adjusting my own website, arranging my own stock in a spare bedroom; pack my own shipments with re-used boxes and search out those interested in these brands one-by-one. And one-by-one, the Canadian Tribe loyal to this brand and supporters in what I offer continues to grow which leaves me appreciative in starting what I did over 5 years ago. And so continues my Journey…

So, that’s about it. Although I am much better known on ANIMAL’s FORVM (which I encourage any/all to join if you see fit), this sponsor with CBB is my first marketing venture into the public Canadian bodybuilding community and is an exciting time for me. I won’t be advertising with CBB year-round or have the most visible banner in your face but I look forward to getting the word out in the meantime. Anyway, if you have any questions or comments they are welcomed anytime here or via PM. Thanks for checkin’ me out.

    In Iron,

    PJ

That's a great story but the real question is: How much do you bench?

Welcome to the site. Good luck with your business.

Checked out your site, but a lot of things dont have sizes like all the unviersal shock therapy, what size containers/how many servings per? I had to go to another site to look it up. I take it there the 2lbs tubs?
