It's not about where you're meeting people, it's about all the internal issues both parties bring to the table, which results in strong chemistry, or attraction. You seem to be saying that you attract them as though you are neutral in the matter, which you certainly are not. They also attract you, and you choose to follow that attraction.
The people that you have the strongest attraction to are those that allow you to continue playing out your internal issues, such as abandonment, betrayal, etc. If you continue to get involved with men that you have very strong chemistry with, you'll continue in the same little dysfunctional dance, whereby they get to be assholes and you the slighted victim. I think most sense how it's going to turn out when they get involved in this familiar dance, but the intense feelings and sexuality that come with it are too hard to resist, particularly when one is not fully aware of what is going on.
