Racism\discrimination is not exclusively a white\heterosexual issue. Groups of all persuasions are more inclusive of themselves than others. There was a post recently about firefighters who were not promoted because of the colour of their skin. This is racism. The firefighters are white. No minorities were able to pass the exam.
Racism\discrimination will never be eliminated until everyone looks past the color\sex\ect. in all cases for everyone. If things like affirmative action and the usual political correctness prevails it will deepen the divide between peoples, not bring them together.

Well, as I didnt really expect this to turn into a racist thread (ah come on its CBB!!) (ok maybe I thought it might), but of course because of the colour of the now president Obama's skin we are discussing this in a manner of racist light, and would it matter? Would it make a difference what ethnic background he had? of course it would! how many people need to take it to that level because they have a hard on for people of colour? When I was young everyone needed to learn the canadian anthem at school, is this a form of brain washing? I tell you one I figured out in a short time that Canada wasnt so "glorious and free" it was just another country.
I was taught in a school of about 2000 people on the alberta prairies about black people such as rosa parks, and martin luther king. I never grew up in a very prejudice household either, infact I can remember my family watching the cosby show regularly and I can even remember my dad renting Eddie murphys standup and Richard Pryors standup comedy on tape., The only thing was that there wasnt any other people around except for white people, so black people intrigued me more than anything when I saw them.
