Given your age and everything you've said, it sounds like you don't want bar trash. Online is actually a pretty decent way to meet people; the stigma about it should really go away. Ultimately, you'll meet up anyway so all it is is just a place for people to make initial contact.

I got stuck doing community service several years ago for being a dumbass and it turned out to be a goldmine. Once a week we would do a meal for the homeless, i got in tight with the kitchen staff and was well liked. After a few weeks the girls that where volunteering where all over themsleves to talk to me, and some of them where hot. I ended up doing that for almost 6 months and i dated about 10 different girls, slept with a few of them, and had a blast.
so far I have a two prospects from online dating and have turned down about 20 fat chicks. I guess if you are patient, things can happen. You need to weed out the ones who are there for attention. The ones who only want to be penpals, and the crazies.
A very good friend of mine met his wife on an online dateing service a few years ago. They also said it was just a matter of weeding out the crazies and what not.

streets, school, it depends i prefer to meet chicks who arent in groups, or if they are ones with at least another guy in it, otherwise you get cockblocked to hell.
best place i find so far is college, worst would be the bar.women prepare themselves mentally before going out to put up their bitch shield. not that i havent had success in a bar, but really its all about having no shame and playing the odds game.
