Snowfall warning for
Metro Montréal - Laval issued
Near 15 cm of snow is expected in the Montréal region but the amounts
will increase toward eastern Québec, reaching locally up to 30 cm.
A low pressure developping over the american midwest extends a warm
front toward extreme southern Québec. Along this front a first low
pressure system will move from Pennsylvania into New England
overnight tonight. The main low will follow the same path on
Thursday. Meanwhile, the warm front will lightly move.
North of the front, the first low pressure system will generates some
snow tonight over southwestern Québec. The second low will generates
a lot more snow over much of southern Québec on Thursday. It will
affect eastern Québec the night after. As this low intensifies, a
strong northeast flow will affect areas near the St Lawrence river
Thursday, causing blowing snow locally.
Near and south of the front, precipitation will fall as rain or wet
snow with a risk of ice pellets or freezing rain near the front
itself.
