I finally broke 230 last week and my only advice is don't look. Pictures are great at showing conditioning but generally useless for showing muscularity (mine look horrid but I've added a lot of strength and hopefully 10 pounds of muscle), focus on the strength and enjoy the food.
The truth is you can't see the muscle under the fat and things will get squigy but that's the price we pay. I'm sure people will get on the lean growth mantra on you but I personally can't imagine being able to put on significant muscle without also putting on some fat to go with it.
I get to stop eating on new year's woo hoo!! Enjoy the eating while you can.
