Has anyone out there had surgery for either a torn rotator cuff or torn labrum? If so, what was your rehab like? How long in the sling? How long in rehab until you were back to working out with zero restrictions?

I've had a bankarts reconstruction for recurrent dislocation on my right shoulder when I was 19 and still playing junior football and it was a very long road back to being able to do everything I could before in the gym, let along go full contact on the field. Flash forward to now and I'm 35 and dealing with either a torn rotator cuff or torn labrum in my left shoulder (ultrasound to hopefully reveal which next week) and on the fence about the surgery as I'm not playing football anymore, but I want to be able to lift as pain free as possible.

Any insight that any of you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
