Do we have a list of the competitors by any chance MP?
I try to put up small lists of people I know for sure but the CBBF has never made any official list over the years.
For the Super-Heavies I know
Ron Partlow
Trevor Koot
Loutfi Ajaoun
Kip Brown (not 100% sure but just won the overall at the opa provincials and looked great)
Mike Zylstra
Jerome Bravo (couldn't find a confirmation he'll be there)
Christopher Wong
BLP (he'll be there for sure but not sure if super heavy or heavy)
people are being secretive
Heather Manuel
Randy Madsen
scott mcdonald
tim love
Tim love is not doing nationals thus year
I'm in as a LHW. Kill me now please!
^^ good to see you back in the show! You always bring sick conditioning with a very balanced physique.
Steve Doucette!!
MP Marlon John is also competing in super heavies and JO is competing in heavies again at the Nats!
Mark Richman in.
My client Jesse Leblanc hitting the stage in Halifax as a middle weight.
This freak lost zero size. Grew I think.. effn bastards and genetics. Sorry I didn't have the raw materials to work with coach...lol. guess this shows...dialing me in wasn't afluke
I won't be on stage but I'll be in the crowd cheering you all on :)
Watch out for last year's heavyweight winner, Zane Watson. He worked hard all year and looks ready to win again!
Hey guys I'm new to this forum and have no clue if i'm asking this in the right place on the site, but does anyone know the answer to this - does anyone who places top 5 in bodybuilding at nationals have an automatic bi to nationals the following year?
Yes!
Thanks!
And good luck to everyone tomorrow! I so wish I was there to cheer all my AB peeps on. Ron Partlow, Liza Miranda and the rest of my crew - knock 'em dead team!!!
Wow, Ron Partlow didn't give first call out. Really curious to see who will be this years Mr. Canada and all the new IFBB Pros.
Nothing, he looks great. It's just that so many are coming in dialed in this year.
Chris Wong - Master's Winner and IFBB Pro card.
Henry Pierre from Quebec - Men's Overall and New IFBB Pro
Another overall winner from Quebec, Henri-Pierre Ano, Super heavyweight and overall.
Tana McGowan won overall for women and new IFBB PRo
Zane Watson - NEW IFBB PRO
Full results are up on CBBF
My guy took home the middle weight title.... Jesse Leblanc
It was pretty hot up there, no circulation - one of the hottest most humid days of the year in halifax (for a couple days before and after the show). DIdnt' make for good conditions especially on a stage known for the incredibly hot lights. I was scared I would be the next one down since I am really prone to heat exaustion, etc. Although I felt fine. Can't say the same for everyone in the show though. There we're 3-4 pass-outs on stage. Not sure how many had to go to hospital, but in the end everyone came too and no serious issues. I think the one that went to hospital returned for evening show.
Just one of those things - flex too hard, get too dehydrated, sugars are low (even though you're eating - most aren't actually absorbing sugars into the bloodstream) all combined with intense humidity and heat and poor air circulation. Boom - pass out. not a good feeling.
Jesse was a great middle. Well deserved win. Heard he weighed in at 167. He was practically a welter, and probably a welter by the time he hit stage... impressive kid. With the changes he's made in the last couple years, I can't see him not being a huge threat as a light heavy in a few years time at this rate. Job well done prepping him bluenose!
