this will be really good :yeah
Overeem is a big dude and also s K-1 Champion
I think Fedor finally realized there was no way out.
no way out of what?
Epic tournament if everything goes well.
Fingers crossed, hoping nobody gets disqualified/injured.
Those are some heavy hitting Heavyweights!
I cant wait.
Edit...seems like it will be Alistair Overeem fighting. Good :)
I know who Alistair Overeem is. The information I found suggests he isn't fighting at all. It's another heavyweight MMA fighter with the same last name. *Which I now think is wrong although I can't figure out where the information on the first site I found came from.*
Overeem is a steroid monster and has 11 loses on his record. Take a look at his fight record and some of the light heavy's and heavy weights that have beaten him. I'm almost positive that "old" Overeem would get destroyed by Fedor...just compare records. "New" Overeem may have a chance, but I still think he'll lose. If/when they fight I think Fedor will stop it in Rd 1.
Edit: Although it's entirely possible that Werdum will submit Overeem again and we'll get Fedor vs Werdum II.
I looked into it further and O-Train, you are actually right. Valentijn Overeem is fighting Werdum. Man I really wanted to see a Fedor VS Alistair match.
Ok, I think I figured it out. They made things kind of confusing. Werdum is fighting Alistair just not on Feb 12th. They are only doing 2 of the quarterfinals on Feb 12 (Fedor v Silva and Arlovski v Kharitonov). The other 2 quarterfinals are as advertised but at a later date. The reason it's confusing is that they have another guy with the last name Overeem also fighting Feb 12 but the other 3 heavyweight fights they have listed on the website aren't part of the tournament. Not sure when the second set of quarterfinals will take place.

So Fedor might still never fight the champion.

My 2c....
I think Fedor at the age, and has been in enough hard fights, that he's probably nearing the end.
But I think he's still the man until somebody beats him up, not just a lucky submission..... but he took a lot of shots in the Arlovski fight, and a lot in the Rogers fight too.
I don't think Brock would have a chance against him , not now or ever...never did.
Dos Santos is a betting favorite against Brock.....
Overeem is a monster.
I've never seen a guy that big strike that good, fast co-ordinated and aggressive. Overeem utterly destroyed Rogers, threw him on the ground like a little girl........ the Overeem with 11 losses was a lot smaller.... this one is walking around probably near 300 lbs, fights near 270. Not the same fighter.
I think the only guy on the planet who could beat him is Fedor. IMHO.......
I agree that he's a highly skilled monster. Keep in mind that Overeem has been training for a long time and not too long ago Rogers was changing tires. I think his weaknesses are his fighting spirit/desire to win and possibly his chin. How big was he when Werdum beat him last time? I'm thinking he was "old" Overeem then. Similar to what he looked like when Kharitinov beat him by KO. I actually havn't seen any Overeem version 2.0 fights so I'm looking forward to the Strikeforce matches.
Orlovski should hop back on the sauce and go back to kicking ass like he used to. HE was badass when he was on the gear.
I havn't seen to many of Overeem's fights when he was smaller either.
Most of what I'm judging him by is his latest K1 fights, and his fight against Brett Rogers.
I just looked up his record though, he's fought Liddell, Big Nog, Shogun, Werdun, Belfort, Buentello, Arona..... Didn't know he's had that much MMA experience. Mostly at 205 though.........
Looks like a great card.
the fight is tomorrow but it seem's like it will be free on Show Time ?
It will be broadcast on Superchannel in Canada.
I'm looking forward to seeing how Fedor bounces back after his loss. I'm thinking Silva is going to take a beat down.
-looks like two different species.
anyone?????
Fedor looks ready for market.
any good streams guys?
Thx SS
Bigfoot Wins.Fight is stopped between 2nd and 3rd rounds!
Fedor says he will retire.....:shock
Yeah, Fedor couldn't do anything to get out of the mount. Size matters.
Hope he doesn't retire though.
hope too, the guy is tuff..
Yeah what a disappointment.
Meh, 34 years old and he's had a lot of hard fights against much bigger guys.... just my opinion but he could have probably fought his whole career at 205 if he had just watched the calories a bit more..... eventually everybody gets old, but for a time he was the best anywhere IMHO. Worst part of it is old Dana will be crowing about how he never was any good.
He should retire.Obviously he's lost it...physical condition is poor.He was coasting for a few years on talent alone.
