Not sure if it's relevant, but Edema might be worth noting.
Edema can be pretty damn serious...
Gaining 15-20lbs of water over a few days can tax the cardiovascular system like no tomorrow.
Sorry... you're right. Didn't mean to make light. I've never experienced the crazy edema myself. But edema does go away, right? And hopefully is lessened when you're careful how you're using/not using sodium and other electrolytes. These other things (on the poll) are often much more long-lasting and harder to mitigate.
My poll is about more serious types of medical diagnoses
I think you just told us you're a little naive....
Ok I would like to know if anyone has ever been diagnosed with any of those, diseases, that was directly related to contest dieting.
If someone has used stimulants for cutting they will experience adrenal issues post contest, Humanofort takes care of those issues for my clients.
Also the reintroduction to any new type of foods for anyone will cause intolerance at first because they have gone months eating very clean and the same foods, which also does not last long.
Just out of curiosity, what is this information being used for? Something research-related? Personal interest?
Personal interest based on some articles I've read. Mostly related to women/dieting, but I thought I'd just throw it out there for everyone.
I've been competing since 2007 and have stayed very healthy doing so. But I know lots of competitors (again, mostly women but not all women) who have had some serious problems post-contest, regardless of whether they used stimulants or juice.
I'm not naive. Just not an expert. But I am intelligent and I am educated and I do know a few things about the scientific method.
This poll is in no way scientific.
Yes it is very dangerous....in fact it is one of the most dangerous sides you can get mostly because its it such an easy trap to fall into. The appetite after dieting is very strong and it takes alot of will power to avoid eating out of control. Its called peripheral edema and if left unchecked can lead to cardiac arrest. This is why reintroducing carbs into the diet needs to monitored closely.

In for this thread...I am very interested to know!
What do you guys use post contest to help "heal" your body and get back into a healthy state? Is anyone a fan of cleanses or anything else? Would love to hear about it!
The central nervous system needs a break to recover as well as the endocrine system if aas were used. Possibly a liver clenase would help as well if orals of any type were used. Recovery has alot to do with how training is adjusted post contest and diet as well. Contest dieting is very stressful...thus rest and sleep is very important.
A few things to do:
1. Taper clen and T3 if used
2. Remove all aas except test..taper test over a few weeks
3. Run PCT if aas were used and get blood work done afterwards
4. SLOWLY add specific carbs back into the diet....dont eat like crazy assuming the weight gain is muscle...its NOT its mainly fat and water..yes you are very anabolic at this time but dont mistake weight for muscle...try to stay relatively lean..while building lean muscle
5. Run Liv52 or Omega Alpha liver cleanse after PCT if aas were used
6. Reduce training volume and intensity to allow CNS recovery...add in supps such as high dose B complex and vitamin c
7. Increase essential fats

Yup I am already all over that after competitions end... Just wondering if anyone did anything in terms of cleanses or other supplements.
Thanks :)
