Mike Van Wyck is his correct name. CBBF didn't make a typo, I did. These results were not published by the CBBF yet. It was being done live in real time between myself and dryvrgrl :)

To have won his class and the overall, the guy had to be dialed in good. Even Steve King said it's going to be between Mike and Ron.
Agreed he looked much better this year then from the photo in 08. The room pic was likely taken by his GF she is like a foot shorter then him that is not the best angel. Have to wait and see comparison photo's for overalls.Quote:

First pics of Ron and Mike up. Large format in the thread called 2009 Canadian Nationals in Vancouver. I took the liberty if resizing them to keep the discussion going. Check out the other thread though as listner posted up some info for the Dennis James seminar at Pantheon gym on Hornby Street.
Im sure Mike worked very hard for his physique, but this photo doesnt make much sense to me. I hope there were other angles that justified the selection.
Vaillant looks great in pics by himself...just like last year he looked fantastic in pics but when he is compared to other guys at this level its a different story...he loses alot of the lustre...last year his conditioning was way off and he didnt do well. we'll have to wait for pics of this year to see if there was any improvement.Quote:

Mike and Rob Belisle got a pro card.
Mike was way harder in the glutes, and hams. A lot more balanced then Rob also. Rob has a thick chest, and thick upper - but mikes shape was better which counts for a lot. I was hoping the judges picked it this way, but wasn't sure which way it would go - they got it right.Quote:

The results in this thread were as they were coming in. Typo's and 1 missing. Won't go back to fix it as the good ones are in the link I just posted and cleaned up in one post.
You guys did a great job for bringing us the results and evrything. Thank you !!!
We don't know much on Mike but I did find a pic. This guy is no slouch. He's a big boy with a good build.
The pic we have previously may not tell the whole story. As different shots and angles come in, I'm sure we'll see why he won.
If you're reading this Mike, congrats. Come say hi and let us get to meet Canada's new super heavyweight IFBB PRO!!
his upper body is exceptional full hard dry but def needs to improve on overall leg development. In the end he did his thang and won so gotta give him credit and respect.....now Imagine Ben P legs on this guy
