In Ontario we only had 3 events before provincals and there was 5 ladies in the short class. Medium and Tall only had two. There was very few FBB competitors but not sure if that is just because of physique or if not a lot of people need to requalify for nationals. I think historically we haven't really seen any new ones come in and I think quite a few are just trying out physique to see how they do before committing to it. I have to wonder though how many years does it take before a female bodybuilder coming up can match the ranks of a re-qualifying national-level female bodybuilder?
What I don't like is a trend for female bodybuilders who built a great body for FBBers suddenly trying to slim down. Say a middleweight or heavier. It would take at least a year or two I think to shrink down unless the person is tall (>= 5'8")
