LOL! You know I drove through CFB Kingston 2 days ago and the living conditions in the base are awful. One of the many reasons I got deviated from a career in the military when I graduated from high school and I spent 4 years in the air cadets with plans to enter the regular forces once done.

Things are all right. Haven't managed to get myself fired yet...so I guess that's a good thing. :D

How are things?

Boring on this end. Nothing new with work and such. Just routine. But it pays the bills.

Baby coming on this end, hence me sticking around. Benefits means more. I can always slide my pension back over to the CF pension seeing that I am eligible once again as a Reservist. However with something more important than me in the picture keeps me here...for the time being.

Now I just need to pass my fitness test (I hate cardio and I'm dealing with a L5 sprain) and finish up my course this summer, I should be able to shop for some full time contracts within the Reserve CF until I manage to convince my better half that going back to the Regular Army is where it is at.

Time will tell in the end.

Harper keeps down playing the Bernier issue. This was/is major issue where intel could of been leaked into the wrong hands.

What other documents went missing? and why the hell is he(Bernier) taking classified documents to his gfs apartment. This isnt funnyfarm but sometimes it feels like it.

I can hardly wait till this prick brings in minimum prison sentences. Great fun, more money wasted on LE and imprisonment, its a make work creation.

Why not just raise the borders.

As we are turning into a republican country, does anyone think this will change after Obama wins down south?

I'm thinking McCain will come in. He's a moderate Republican (in the eyes of the public). I still don't think that the US is progressive enough to vote in a Black man or a woman unfortunately.

As for the US presidential race.. ugh the whole lot stinks. McCain wants to nuke Iran and cause more shit overseas. Iran is Iraq all over again but the sheeple in the US believe the propaganda. There are millions of young Iranians who LOVE the west and hate the fundamentalist old guard. But the first missle lobbed over there and we'll have millions more potential terrorists. GOd how I hate the US Christian right, for religious folk they are ****ED up. Isn't Christianity about love thy neighbour, not killing and starting wars? Then again Bush is a born again who are hot and horny for Armageddon. Read a good article in Foreign Policy where a US reporter asked some Iranian youths about living under a theocracy. They replied that they didn't really have issues with the current state and were fascinated about how the reporter lived under the US theocracy.

You do QL2 at St-jean or elsewhere?

I did it all in Petawawa in the reserves and then I transfered to 1PPCLI.

Back when it was hard...lol, no shit. I remember being punched out by my instructor on my Infantry course and then when I was teaching on an Infantry course in 96/97, I had my troops out for an extra drill lesson after dinner, I got "caught" swearing at them...that cost me 2 weeks in the fishbowl on duty. 2 days later I got "caught" again putting them in the push up position (me with them) and counting off 25 slow ones...and that cost me another 2 weeks in the fishbowl.

The army got really soft at the end of the 90's. It seems to be improving now, however the PC shit still prevails.
